I brought home a one-ish year old Dobermann mix about 6 weeks ago. He was pretty sick when he was found, but he’s been doing really well. The problem is, he is so so bitey. He bites me so hard and so often that my legs are covered in bruises. Like to the point that someone asked me if everything was okay.
I don’t know what to do, and I’m hoping someone has some thoughts. He gets a 45 minute walk in the morning and plenty of time in the yard. I try to redirect with tug (suggestion of our trainer), but I’m almost worried it’s making it worse. I’ve also tried kennel time, but that only seems to make it worse.
Obviously I love him. I’ll do whatever it takes to work through this, but I am at a loss.
He was a rescue. He seems a little small for a pure male doberman, but he also might still be growing. He was very malnourished.
I was ready to hate her. I really was. But I love her.
Does anyone get a pins and needles feeling or a tingling after being out in the sun? It is such a weird feeling to me, but the sun is the only correlation I’ve come up with?
