For the first time, I think this MSI is winnable IF WE FIX OUR DRAFTING
For the first time in 3 years, I think we really have a shot at winning MSI.
After watching the game against BLG, we were not outclassed team-fight-wise or player performance-wise. We were outclassed in Draft. In the two games where we had playable drafts, we went toe to toe with them and even steamrolled them.
Yes our solo lanes are weak, but in Game 1 and 4 we showed that we can hang; in Game 5 again we showed that we won't be outclassed but our draft was just unplayable with the first pick Trundle into banning Xin instead of Kindred.
I hate saying as people use it as a cop out, but all 3 of BLG wins were just massive draft advantages that made the game unplayable.
Like if we picked Ornn after picking Trundle and ban Kindred instead of Xin. Like, who even came up with that ban btw? Trundle counters Xin, and you ban Xin instead of the biggest Trundle counter in Kindred with a KNOWN Kindred OTP on the other side? Like hello?
Game 2 was the best swain angle I've ever seen, 4 melee into Swain you are eating.
Game 3 samething 3 auto attackers into Jax.
Our draft Priority and team compositions were just trash, downright Trash and showed that we didn't do any prep work because I can't believe you did prep work and this was the drafts you came up with.
I said last year that with the rise of Fearless, drafting will become one of the most important skills in Proplay. Before in Proplay, players would just pick whatever and handshake match-ups, but now more so than ever before, Drafts are the biggest decider; teams that win drafts are winning the games more often.
We saw this with G2 at FST, we saw this with HLE at RTM. We seriously need to fix our drafting and start using the games 170 champions and stop trying to handsdiff unplayable drafts.
