A few years ago we found a name we absolutely loved. It worked in both our languages, was easy to pronounce and spell, and it wasn’t in the top 100. however, it was a risk because the name is identical to a mononymous a-list celebrity.

We were worried that our daughters would be lessened because it belongs to someone else. Nearly 3 years in this is not a concern at all. we have only ever twice even gotten something like “X, like X the singer??”. Our daughter has totally owned and rocked her own name.

Of course if this celebrity goes on to have some terrible scandal or be a terrible person, this could all come undone, but so far our worries have not been realized. I’m so glad we went for it.

Rupert Murdoch and Fox news don’t need any more of your money. Next time I’ll go with telemundo.
