Opening my new transmission shop - how do I not give the bank 3.5% of my entire business via transaction fees?

I opened my new business checking account, and while there I also asked about merchant services. I told the guy I didn't want to see that 3.x% number, and he said thats the standard and best he could do.

Average expected ticket value is going to be range of $6000, it does not make sense for me to just give $210 dollars to the bank for moving the money. The bank is on my way home, 2 miles from the shop. There is no way it would cost me $210 to move cash or checks into the bank, that price is not valuable for the service provided.

If I do 100 jobs a year, that's $21,000 in fees.

How do I find a better payment processing price? I see facebook ads for scammy looking payment services advertising 1% or less. What's the catch on those, long payment delays while they hold your money? Shit like paypal where they can just keep your money hostage forever?

Do I just not take credit cards? Do I just raise the price of everything by 3.5%? Do I charge a surcharge on card payments?

Sutter Health Park VIP ticket review - Gilt Edge, Solon Club, Legacy Club, and Diamond Dugout

Sutter Health Park VIP ticket review - Gilt Edge, Solon Club, Legacy Club, and Diamond Dugout

I attended all 3 games of the Mariners @ A's series, 9/11-13

As a Mariners fan, the series was packed with thrills and heartbreak.

Each night, I got a different VIP ticket because I wanted to try each one for the first time. I am writing this review because before I bought the tickets I had to kinda dig around a lot to find out what each one actually includes with any detail. I spent $500 on the secondary market between the 3 tickets, so my judgement of value is from that basis. Not an ad, I used seat geek. Their search filter specifically lets you find tickets tagged with the club names. Stub hub search filters did not seem as easy. For either one check the respective subreddit and you can usually find a coupon good for a few bucks off.

All VIP club tickets get you access to the Lexus Gate 2 hours before game time, which is at least 30 minutes before public gate. I got to watch the away team batting practice and warmups all 3 days, home team was just wrapping up as we got in.

Right when you go thru security they have a quick drink station to get you one before you even get in the door with a complimentary cocktail and beer and wine and soft drinks.

No matter which of the VIP clubs you access, every member of the staff in all of them is very nice and helpful.

Overall review TLDR:

The main advantage of all the VIP clubs: MINIMAL WAITING IN LINE, MINIMAL MISSING THE GAME. MOST THINGS ARE GRAB AND GO OR QUICK SERVICE. Slowest thing was the buffet line in the Legacy club before the game ever started. If you are trying to get a VIP ticket and "get your money's worth" by eating and drinking to the max, you may find that money math wise you might be ahead buying all separately unless you can really put back the beers. But you will have to be waiting in lines, and at the game you can't get time back.

Gilt Edge - Fantastic if you can get a cheap ticket that includes this

Legacy Club - Great, if you ever get the chance for a ticket that includes this you definitely should take it

Diamond Dugout - LEGENDARY you will remember forever as long as you don't drink too much free beer

Solon Club - Meh, fine, wouldn't pay more than 75 bucks for a ticket up here I think. Good value if you're a drinker.

Thank You, and Sorry to the season ticket holders who had to spend 25k or whatever to buy the seats I sat in.

9/11 - Section 121 Row CC Seat 8 - $52.52 inc fees - Gilt Edge Club

This seat was a fantastic view of the game and came with access to the nearby Gilt Edge Club. The Gilt Edge Club is a nice small space right off of the main concourse with bar style seating overlooking left field. Access includes self serve Nacho and Hot dog bar with appropriate fixins, peanuts and popcorn, softdrinks and water, as well as complimentary selection of beer and wine. Grab whatever you want and hang out there, or head back to your seat. 2 12oz can beers at a time.

This is the only section where I had a negative experience as a result of a presumably drunk fan of the home team deciding to do an aggressive victory dance looming over me and uncomfortably close to me at the end of the game immediately following the walk off. I had not interacted with that person in any other way during the entire game, and I wish the usher would have got him to stop a lot sooner than he did. He even refused my awkward offer of a friendly handshake when he was done doing his weird thing. He is lucky he picked a friendly person to do that to.

9/12 - Section C Row 1 Seat 13 - $349.84 inc fees - Diamond Dugout and Legacy Club

This seat is front row directly behind home plate. This is a seat to get at least once if you can! This ticket at any other MLB park is a bazillion dollars, here in Sac no matter how much the seller wants for this ticket it is a good price if your favorite team is in town.

This seat included access to the Legacy Club, and also included seat-side service during the game! The Legacy Club was really cool, buffet style full dinner served before the game, as well as Hot Dog bar and other snacks for grab and go. They have a full serve bar, with selection of beer and wine included. There is an outdoor deck that overlooks left field with bar seating. Inside is more bar seating and also a TV pit type area, they had football going on a bazillion inch TV.

Diamond Dugout View seat includes seat side service. Select beer wine, AND COCKTAILS! included, plus nachos, hotdogs, and snacks. The server gives you a menu at the beginning of the night, it's pretty extensive. I kept pretending to catch foul balls that hit the net in front of me and every time I did the server popped up because he thought I needed something (what a dude). He will bring you 2 12oz cup beers at a time and whatever food or snack you want. He wants to bring them to you. Let him bring them to you.

The fans next to me were A's fans but they were from Spokane WA. Super cool dudes, very gracious fans to sit next to while my team was doing the shelacking.

IF YOU EVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO SIT IN A SEAT IN THE DIAMOND SECTION TAKE IT! VERY COOL EXPERIENCE! What a thrill to see an all-timer game for my team from the front row. Largest margin of victory in Mariners 50 years.

9/13 - Section 202 Row 3 Seat 1 - $98.58 inc fees - Solon Club

This seat is a pretty good view of the game from the 2nd deck overlooking right field. The seat is in the Solon Club, and includes complimentary access to all of its amenaties. This club was kind of disapointing to me. The selection of food items was not impressive to me on the day I was in this club but I am sure others liked it. They had crab cakes (mariners nod), bbq chicken fingers, dried out pretzel dog bites, and "BLT sliders" that they put more things than just BL and T on. I would have rather had the nacho bar from the Gilt Edge club, but they didn't have that. They had popcorn available complimentary, other snacks also behind the bar.

The club also had a full bar, with select beer and wine available. Beer was on tap, 2 12oz cups at a time.

Day game this seat started in the shade, was in the sun by 3rd inning or so. There are no ushers in the Solon box, and it wasn't crowded, so everyone moved around as they pleased and it was pretty casual.

I was not the only Mariners fan in the box, but it was mostly A's fans naturally. Most fans in this area seemed to be drinking quite a lot. Only one fellow was an aggressive drunk heckler, even though there were a lot of kids right by us on family sunday he did not hesitate with the big loud curse bombs.

This club was kindof meh. The service was fine, the selection was ok, but after many many games in the regular stands I was not impressed by the seats in the 2nd deck. This club is probably worth it if you are a drinker.

How do I make the most of each VIP section at Sutter?

I got a VIP ticket to each of the 3 upcoming Mariners games, since the prices seemed great on the secondary market. (Sorry season ticket holders)

Friday game I got a ticket with access to the Gilt Edge club. From what I understand it's beer, hot dog bar, nacho bar. Am I allowed to take the stuff back to my seat? What other advantages does Gilt Edge come with, website details are thin

Saturday game I scored front row diamond 💎 with legacy access. That night will be a ceremony, I anticipate being able to hit the legacy club during the ceremony since the A's fans will be out watching. Tell me if that's a dumb plan. Do they really serve like a full nice dinner like steak? How is the seat side service?

Sunday I got a ticket in the Solon club. This should be perfect for the day game. Any tips to improve the experience in this section?

All 3 games I plan on getting there as early as possible to catch Mariners batting practice and maybe score an autograph or selfie. Any tips about the Lexus gate or best way to get autograph?

Look forward to a good series between these teams, good luck to all!

5r55e - Thrust bearing pieces found in the pan

The first time I build a unit type I like it to be a personal vehicle instead of a customer's, that way I can learn the ins and outs of the unit on my dime and my headache. So I'm always on the lookout for a cheap vehicle with a bad transmission that I'm not familiar with yet.

This time, I picked up a 2009 Ford Ranger 4cyl for a steal.

No 4th 5th or lockup, as well as corresponding gear codes to go with them.

I picked up a bonded separator plate and a transgo kit and wanted to try tackling from the valve body on the chance there was a blown out plate gasket.

Dropped the pan and valve body today. No initial apparent blown out gasket, thrust bearing needles and shell pieces were between the plate and case, as well as a couple on the pan magnet.

Question:

When one of these units starts eating thrust bearings, should I even waste my time cracking it open to rebuild? Or just get another core to start from?

Give me your best fact about a Mariner that is real but sounds fake, or that is fake but sounds real

Example:

Josh Naylor once cut a teammate with a butcher knife.

Luke Raley is the smallest man in his family.

Cal Raleigh as a child won his local rodeo Mutton Bustin event 3 years out of 4.

edit: not enough fake but real sounding so here's a couple

In the early days of the Kingdome, Mariner Moose's antlers once got stuck in the main clubhouse door right before a game and all the players had to go to the field through the fire exit. After that they installed a double door.

Ichiro feigned not understanding how a whoopee cushion worked. Buhner loved to put a whoopee cushion on Ichiro's spot on the bench, and Ichiro would always sit on it and pretend to be surprised and embarrassed because Jay would laugh so hard every time.
