I know this isn’t the totally correct subreddit for this, but hoping for some grace 🙏Wanted to share with the community what I’m working on right now. while I wait for a new kit to come in I started working on a new diorama. This one is a Mayan pyramid. Kukulcan Mexico. My vision for this is a pyramid in the jungle with warriors in the woods protecting it from invasion. The plan is to add this to a surface adding trees, ground plants etc then having miniature Mayan warriors in the woods.The pyramid, I could have gone and made but this time I wanted to find one that was made in Mexico. That took a time. Found one on eBay!!
It came after a while only problem. No instructions. Only pictures. Well that was fun learning how to put it together but I finally got it!  next was trying to paint it the original color which was terracotta and had turquoise accents. This is where I am today. Paint done. I made squares using my polymer clay the. Used the back of some jewelry making stuff the wife had to emboss them, and glued them on. Accented the lines with gold marker. I think it looks good so far. Next up is working on the terrain for this. Currently working on some stone ruins I am making out of foam to texture and paint then add as well I’ll be doing this stuff At least until my new kit comes in lol. What other hobby’s do you all do?? I know there so many talented people in this community.

So have this Mayan pyramid in the picture. I’m not good at math but it’s 11cm high. The original kukulkan pyramid is 98 ft high. Making this a 1:27 ish scale? My question is I wanted to do a diorama of Mayan warriors on a field below it. However I just can’t find any at such scale. Even 1:25 ( which may work right?) I don’t have a 3d printer or access to one so can’t make them myself. Can I use another scale similar to the 1:25 without it looking ridiculous? Any suggestions or help would be amazing. Thank you!!

I was almost done with it. Literally like two steps left and I went to try it again as suggested by users here and it just stopped. Stopped. No reason why that I can see. Nothing blocking the path. Nothing stuck in its way. It was doing fine before this like 5 mins before literally and now nothing. Please don’t tell me to take it apart Idk if I have the heart for that right now.

I wanted to share this that I made for my mother coming up for Mother’s Day. Hot glued the kit to a wood round and added various animals. Birds, frogs, butterflies and a danger noodle. Vines and flowers and mushrooms were added as well. I laid moss and a gravel path up to and around the chapel itself. The kit was too pretty to leave just by itself and my mother being religious, I knew she would love this

So I did a thing.. anyone who knows me knows how much of a Lord of the Rings fan I am. When I saw this I couldn’t resist and bought it. Barad Dur 4d build. It was a minor pain in the ass honestly. It’s a foam board construction and uses tabs to put together and once they are bend and outta shape that’s it. that But the detail is fantastic on it really. This puppy is tall at about two feet Now I gotta find a place to put this. Thanks for looking!

I finished it! I love this book nook. After my challenge with the parachute tower, I found my skills, patience and attention to details
Increased and it really came out on this one! The edge painting was extensive as a lot of the parts were just visually not working for me. Bare wood on painted parts annoy me lol. But it came together sooo great. My fingers are still sore from the thick wood. It made it somewhat difficult for me as my carpal tunnel didn’t allow a lot strength that I used to have. But it came out great really My wife assisted me with the process and I loved being able to share this hobby with her.

Received this yesterday! Gonna be using this for a Mother’s Day gift. She’s quite religious and will be adding a religious statue in the nook. It’s actually very pretty and seems well designed. Wish me luck!

So here is my work I’ve done so far. Im pretty sure it would have been done earlier if not for allllll the edges to be painted. If only my anal retention would take a break but nooo! Gotta get all of them and make sure the colors match as best as possible. One thing though this kit is beefy. My old man hands hurt trying to push some smaller pieces together. My Thor hammer and wood tools help but damn. Anywho…

I thought It was gonna be original and new but soon afterwords found many had the same idea. But I still love the way it came out. I used Minibrands Masterpieces art works for the paintings and statue of David. I ordered a standard box from amazon, added wallpaper and hard wood flooring. The stanchions are wood dowels on top of buttons with the rope is standard cord with bead caps and screws. The stanchions are painted an antique bronze color. The pedestal I made with just a balsa wood dowel and rounded wood top also painted antique bronze. The cushions were hand made and buttons were sewed on by my beautiful wife. The lights add a nice depth I think to the atmosphere. I painted the box in black and the front in gold. It’s my spin on this and I love the work it took to get this done. Enjoy!

Cutebee Plaza De Los Muertos. Only took a month to get here lol. From what I see I’m gonna need to paint a lot of edges as the plain wood seems distracting to me. I know it’s a popular one here, so hopefully I do it justice.
