Submitted my forum on Aug 2nd and got my Approval on Aug 6th. This morning i finally got some free time from life to actually do this swap. Watched a few videos and did a little research. It honestly wasn’t hard to do. I’m thinking an FRT from FN specialties next.
Learned that the oxygen theme had been released and seen images of it i went and downloaded it right away! its the theme i had been looking for and is sooooo clean looking! 4 months on CachyOS and still love this flavor of Linux the most. so far its been solid and reliable on my System.
Found these Opal 30 on marketplace for $90. In very good shape with minor scuffing and small tear on fabric grill. Hooked them up to test them out myself and they sound pretty incredible for some bookshelf speakers. They have a nice soundstage. Can’t find much info on these but from what I’ve gathered they didn’t make a lot of these.
These will be a birthday present for my dad and I think he will love these!
Watching a few videos and peeping all the photos that are online of the exterior and interior im wondering what is all included with the US models and what is included for the N. I cant get over how good the new CN8 looks and i love that retro/cyberpunk style it has. What peaked my interest was the bang & olufsen audio system in the new CN8 and i can image the new CN8 N will have that audio system if available for the US market. Everything about it so far including the looks have me considering trading in my 24 EN but there has to be some things that the new EN will need to have for me to consider the trade in the first place.
Raptor Matte Grey - Please Hyundai give us matte colors for the new EN!!
Bang & Olufsen Audio - I believe this will be standard like the Bose was.
Option for smaller screen - Im not really a fan of placing Tablets onto a dashboard...
Standard Wireless Carplay/Android Auto - This really needs to be standard in the EN.. its 2026
Shifter Location for the Auto/Manual - I see the normal versions have the shifter on the steering column and i wonder if the EN version will have the tradition shifter on the center console even if it means losing 1 of the wireless charging pads im ok with that.
Got home yesterday and decided to see if this thing even worked. I cleaned off all the dust then plugged into wall and powers on and I get a signal. I can see all resolutions and refresh rates for it. From what I can see so far I can do up to 1600x1200 @60hz and 1024x768 @85hz. Running a cheap insignia hdmi to vga converter from Best Buy. Colors look great and it’s sharp. Playing some bodycam was a whole new experience on a crt. Will do some more testing this weekend.
My dad was able to snag this Scanport crt from his job. Doing some research I cannot find any info whatsoever on this monitor and only found 1 other Reddit poster with this CRT. Will test tonight if it powers on and if I get an image. Already have a hdmi to vga adapter in my parts bin I will dig out.
Had done my 3rd track day yesterday at Waterford Hills Raceway and the local photographer out at the track was taking photos of all the vehicles out at the track. He printed the photos and went around selling them and I bought this photo! Pretty sweet and wanted to share!
