Phone Overheating on Charging Port

Is anyone else having issues with their phones overheating while on the charging port? I have an iPhone-16 Max Pro. I keep getting a message that my phone is hot and when I put my hand down in the area of the charging port and my actual phone, it is ridiculously hot. It was not even that hot here in Jersey when I first noticed it. It has now happened on hot days, but, when I have the air cranked in the car. It does not seem like it should be doing this... any suggestions? I even took the case off to see if it would happen, and it still does it.

Has anyone bought this specific Billetworkz shift knob?

I’m interested in getting a Billetworkz shift knob and I like the of this “fusion” one. I can’t find much online of EN owners’ experiences with it.

Anyone on here used one before?

HPFP upgrade on stock

I'm contemplating doing either the sonata or genesis hpfp upgrade on my stock car. Once in a while I'll get a sputtery start and it kind of bugs me.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this upgrade and noticed stronger starts and perhaps some performance upgrades on their stock car? Thanks!

Joined the Club! ‘26 DCT Dad Car

After being a bystander for nearly 3 years, we’ve finally sold our trusty 2017 Elantra SE and moved into a 2026 PB DCT Elantra N. Can’t wait for adventures in this with my wife and two kids. Thanks to all in the group who answered questions and shared experiences on my prior post here - you all helped me make my decision!

Over a year later... and still love this car like the day I bought it

Been about 13 months since I bought the car. Ive had zero issues or complaints othere then stupid little non relevant things. Car has 25k kms on it now and I still get excited to drive it every time. Ive done powerflex bushings, forge intake, hks BOV, pierburg solenoid, and catch can .

I literally love this car so much. It does everything I ask for it to. Its an absolute riot, or works great as a normal car, depending on the mood.

Got to work this morning and thought the car looked great so snapped a picture.

This car has introduced me to people and experiences i never would have otherwise, the community and especially my local club is amazing and so welcoming. Excited to see what the future brings for my car and the N brand in general.

My Genesis g70 has been a lemon, should I buy an Elantra N?

I currently own a 2021 genesis g70 3.3t rwd with 420 hp and 500 tq. stage 1. It is so much fun, but the reliability is killing me. I'm only at 50k miles

Radiator last week, now my evap core went out this week. Transmission is leaking. Diff bushings are cracked. tension rods are shot. window motor is faulty. the list goes on.

Should i sell my car and buy an Elantra N? How is the reliability? Any tips on miles or what to look for etc? I want the DCT not the manual. Will I not like the fwd after having rwd?

I'm looking for a reliable car to have for the next 2-3 years

Basically please convince me to get one and help know what to look for, unless i shouldn't get one...

New Shoes

Super speed 18x9.5 +45 with ECF 245/40

Wanted to show how the tire would look mounted on these wheels, if anybody needed reference. These were the lightest wheels I could find that were not over 2k for a set. With the tire and wheel together they come out to 42.9 lbs. It is hard to buy after market wheels when we have the light forged wheels from factory. Will get them mounted soon and update. For $300 a wheel (and a design I liked) I could not beat it. The max wheel width for these tires are 9.5 so I was hoping they wouldn’t look too stretched and i’m happy with the results. Going to install camber bolts and see if I could upgrade to 255/35 or 265/35 next time.

Powerflex bushings

I recently bought a 23 EN with a bit of milage(60k), I've been thinking of getting the bushings kit for the wheel hop but I don't know if I should replace the transmission mount and get the insert or just put the insert with the old mount.

First autocross event

Hello! I bought my N back in February, and finally got it out to an autocross event (sorry for not great dash cam footage). This was my best out of 8 runs at 27.5 seconds. Came 4/5 in my class, but 6/14 in novice. It was an absolute blast and can’t wait to do another!

‘22-23 vs ‘24+

As somebody who’s looking to buy an EN, is there anything added in the ‘24+ facelift models that make the older ones NOT worth it, or should I consider them all equally as someone coming from a ‘24 Forte GT and just wants an upgrade?

Edit: These replies help a lot and as someone who just wants to daily drive it and do a couple mods before going off to college with no intention to track it right now, I think I’ll go with a ‘22-23 as I prefer the PFL look anyways.

Second edit: Bit of a budget change (now 27k) and watched the savage geese video multiple of you recommended and I’m pretty sure I’m sold on a FL. Although if I can’t find a good one within my price range I’ll still get a PFL.

Go get your EN tuned!

I bought my Elantra N manual brand new.. watched all the fabulous reviews… love the car very much but two things really really bugged me about it

  1. The octane learning rubbish.. I’ve read about it and tried every which way to make it learn.. in almost 4 years no success… maybe once on a long drive on highway I saw 17psi boost but once I stopped and started car it unlearned.. I even contacted Hyundai head office to ask for specific methods to make it work. They corresponded with me Over 6 months after they say they did internal testing but nothing worked … I felt a little ripped off as the car makes under the advertised power when non octane learned and makes the advertised power once learned.. so I bought a car that I was never able to experience the advertised power. I’ve owned many other forced induction cars, one of which made the advertised power as the minimum and if conditions were ideal provided overboost.. another 15% more power and torque. So the Elantra N made me feel ripped off.. further the i30n hatch does not have octane learning, it gets full boost without any nonsense procedure.. Hyundai advises this is due to it being compliances for Europe, Australia.. EN is American market and Australia and Korea, so different fuels required the octane learning procedure.. I note type R is sold in many markets including USA without this ridiculous octane learning… so I felt ripped off… am I supposed to spend half my tank each fill up to try learn it to get the advertised power? Just ridiculous

  2. I find the Elantra N needs a bit more power to be genuinely exciting to drive. I see many on the roads and they are just nice commuter cars if I cannot get it octane learned… further I have an i20n that has overboost so light weight and it makes it full boost always… maybe octane learned they feel a bit more special.

Everything else in the car I like … my decision was either move the car on in disappointment of not being able to enjoy the advertised power and feeling ripped off or get it tuned and see the potential…

So I contacted Cherry tuning, car now has full bolt ons now and tuned.. makes around 21-23psi.. what a rocket! It’s so so much faster than unlearned octane ,, it drives super smooth and when you put foot down it’s violent and fast.. exciting to drive.. it really is.. what a difference car.. maybe if I could octane learned it would feel OEM+ but based on the non octane learned car, it’s a missile

If you own an Elantra N, if you reasonably confident there isn’t too much warranty issues, go get it tuned and oh my, wow what a car… dont cop this silly ridiculous octane learning rubbish any more.

badgeskins vs iilumo drls

i loved the badgeskins but that white light bleed around them always bothered me. looks great during the day when the lights are off but the illusion is kinda ruined when it gets dark.

since i got over my fear of the bumper with the velossa tech install, this wasnt all that bad. the worst part was removing the old drl boards from the heatsink which wasnt super easy even with the heat gun. i had to do some troubleshooting at the end because for some reason the right one was working but the left one wasnt. redid the whole process and then it worked so that mustve been an error on my part. whole process took me 3h but without the troubleshooting it would probably take anyone else 2h 15.

i love the look of the slotted drl vinyls from badgeskins so im gonna see if i can get one in clear so i can keep that look but the complete lighting from the iilumo lights
