Help my old rubber plant!

I’ve got a very old and large rubber plant that for two months has had gradual yellowing and dropping of leaves.

Leaves in the lower half of plant have been gradually getting stippled then yellow then fall. I’ve lost 5-6 in two months. Growth was good until the most recent leaf on the main stem. Branch growth still seems ok.

It’s in a south facing window in the UK and gets good sun all day. It’s in a large pot with drainage holes - I’ve checked roots and it’s not root bound. I wondered if poor watering and UK heatwaves had caused stress but it’s only gotten worse despite moving it away from window. I’ve not got loads of evidence for pests (no webs, no obvious signs under leaves) but am at a loss.

I wondered if
- nutrient defiency (but fed a month ago and has only worsened) hadn’t really fed before that
- sun burn/ watering stress? But have been very careful for two months and it’s only worsened. Tried moving away from window and shutting blind in heatwave/full sun days.
Help! I love my tree.
