Give your thoughts, feelings and opinions on Hellraiser (2022) down below! Let’s celebrate the whole series, together!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to touch base and give you some updates on the r/Hellraiser community!

Recently, we’ve come to the conclusion that the appearance for the sub is a little outdated! It’s been the exact same since 2022, so I wanted to shake it up! In celebration of the upcoming Hellraiser: Revival, we’ve changed our banner and icon to more closely match the classic Hellraiser brand.

Speaking of Hellraiser: Revival, just a little update to all of you who may be interested in it, it will be releasing on October 8, 2026 for Windows, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2! We’re excited for all the new playthings who will be coming to this subreddit in celebration of the games release!

Because this is the first new Hellraiser property released in the last couple years, the Hellraiser subreddit wanted to celebrate, so for 11 days leading up to the release, we will be discussing every Hellraiser film, newest to oldest. That means, on October 8, we will be having a blood soaked discussion on the Original Hellraiser film! I hope you can join us, and give us all your thoughts when we start the discussion on Hellraiser (2022) on September 28, 2026!

Also in celebration of the new community members we will be receiving with the games launch, we wanted to incentivize you all to post your art as much as possible! Starting this Monday, September 14, we will be starting a new ongoing series to feature your works, Monday Art Showcase! Every Monday night, a piece of art posted on this subreddit will be selected to be pinned for one full week, so everyone can see your work in all its glory! Cosplay, Painting, Digital Art, Sculptures, anything goes! Our only rule, and this is a strict rule, is that NO AI GENERATED OR ASSISTED ART WILL BE PERMITTED! If any AI Generated Art is posted on this subreddit it will be removed immediately, and it will not be eligible to be featured for the Monday Art Showcase.

We’re excited to share our space with many more Hellraiser fans soon and we hope to see you, your art, or even just your thoughts very soon!

Goodbye for now and always remember, YOU OPENED THE BOX, WE CAME!!!

Ok so, I’ve been seeing this subject doing the rounds now that this skin is out. About few weeks ago, subtitles for Hinakos voice lines were present in the files but are not available for the skin with purchase. I think a lot of people reading it “BHVR fucked it up” or “they’re greedy and wanted to charge more for less!” Are both kind of silly and frankly, uncharitable. Yes BHVR make a lot of mistakes, I am the first to not only admit it, but also point it out, but instead of just jumping to conclusions and hate mobbing the situation, let’s put our thinking caps on and make some informed decisions about what could be going on here.

A. Why would Hinako have subtitles in the files in previous updates but not have voicelines in the release version?

This one seems obvious no? Either they’re holding the voicelines for a future update (maybe they’re bugged, maybe they’re doing audio mixing, who knows), or they’re ready to go and they want to hold them for… something. What I’m obviously not sure, I’m not psychic.

What I can say is that it’s not unrealistic they’re doing voice work for all the Silent Hill survivors and will just release all their voicelines at once. They previously expressed interest during the 10th anniversary stream in redoing old characters voices and considering Hinako and the Nurse- Sprit skin are happening, Konami and BHVR seem to have a good working relationship. They could just be waiting to do an update adding voices for all 6 characters. They’d need to do recording for 6 individual characters with 6 different actors (Cheryl, Lisa, Cybil, James, Maria and Hinako) some of which might not be with either BHVR or Monster Factory anymore. It probably seems a lot less complicated than it probably is.

B. Who is Hinako Voiced by?

Her screams seems to done by Konatsu Kato, so I presume she did her voice work as well. Someone mentioned Suzie Yeung (Eng Hinako VA) was present in the games credits. I’m not sure about this, it’s possible her screams were Konatsu and her talking voice is Suzie? It’s a long shot but it’s not dissimilar to Daryl, Rick or Rize, where they have multiple people voicing different vocal aspects. I also wonder if they’re working on adding English and Japanese lines for her, so they’re holding them off till both languages are done. I don’t see why there would be subtitles in the game for lines that aren’t there, it doesn’t make any sense otherwise.

C. Final speculation

My personal speculation is that they’re either waiting for an update to release voice lines for all the Silent Hill survivors, so they’re just waiting to do them all at once, or they’re recording voices lines in both languages and simply aren’t complete yet, that would explain why Hinako sounds like her Japanese VA but has credits for her English one, they’re both potentially being added as options on the players end which they want voicing her (like they did in SHf).

Thank you for reading, wanted to address all this cause I think some people really took this and ran with it (very blindly I might add). I’m just saying that maybe don’t comment on things unless you have more information, because I think there’s a lot of logic being thrown out the window simply to accuse BHVR of stuff. I’m just as disappointed about the Anniversary event and cakes and stuff as everyone else, but forming a hate mob over some voice lines is a little silly lol.
