Are y'all topping of your tanks when you fuel up? And other fuel/tank capacity questions.

I feel like I'm gassing up pretty frequently. I typically remain very cognizant of the fuel economy as I'm riding and try to ride mostly in very fuel-efficient ways. And I know the tank is not huge or anything, but I feel like I'm hitting gas stations just a bit more often than I should have to? Idk.

I don't insert the fuel pump all the way into the tank when fueling, and stop pumping gas when the auto-stop is on the fuel pump is triggered, and when I look in the tank the fuel itself is visible towards the top of the tank and seems to be pretty high up, and my fuel meter on the bike always reads full after. But then it just seems to deplete rather quickly.

Should I be topping off as much as possible to maximize distance on gas fill-ups?

Also, does the 3.7 gal tank include the reserve as well? Or is the reserve additional to the 3.7 gal tank volume? My sense is that 3.7 gal MUST be tank and reserve total.

And when the fuel meter is flashing and starts its own odometer, does that mean I'm using the reserve tank at this point? Because I'll fill the tank to the pump's auto-stop when I get to that point, and it'll only take like 2 gallons or so. Does that mean there are 1.7 gallons left once the fuel meter is flashing?

Maybe I'm just riding more than I realize. I'm also a new owner of a '26, so maybe I'm just getting used to the new bike still.

Thanks!

I wanna do trail magic for hikers in MA this Sunday mid-morning through afternoon. What trailhead would y'all recommend as best for this? Anywhere in MA basically is fine.

Class of '23 here, heading to western MA for unrelated reasons Saturday afternoon and spending the night, and have been fantasizing about paying forward the trail magic I received thru-hiking a few years ago for a few years now.

Where can I best support you crazy hikers??

Good aftermarket seat or seatcover?

I just got one of these things and I f***ing it and think it's literally the perfect motorcycle for me and I am forming a soul bond with it.

However: the seat? Not awesome. And I knew even before buying it that it would need to be replaced or covered.

Right now I'm just doing commuting and longer recreational day rides with it, but eventually I intend to take it on longer motocamping trips and ultimately deep dive transcontinental journeys. The modding process will be slow and gradual, but a new seat/seat cover is definitely high on the list.

What do you fellow XSRers recommend in that department? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Long-term Scrambler 800 owners, I'm in the market. What would you have me know before buying?

Hey y'all. I'm doing deep due diligence and independent research before hopefully buying one of these things (not sure which trim yet), and so I thought as part of that process I'd go straight to the source! For those of you who have been on one of these things for a while now, how is long-term ownership working out? How is the bike treating you? What did you wish you knew before buying? Would you make the same choice again? Are there any typical issues to look out for with these bikes? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey y'all, I'm about to join the family, and am super stoked to make that post, but first, just looking for in advance input about what y'all think I should know as a new owner of one of these things. Thanks!

Title basically says it. I'm signing for a 2026 XSR 700 this week. If any of you more experienced XSR owners have any tips or insights you think would be helpful to me as a new owner of a new XSR, I'd love to hear 'em! I'm upgrading from my first bike of an extremely used '10 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic after five years of riding.

Any tips or insights on run-in period, or anything else I should know out the gate?

Thanks!

Y'all have excellent taste, by the way.
