Is there any saving my HD CRT?

I just got this 98kg behemoth last weekend and it was perfect for my PS2/1 games, but last night it suddenly went rainbow coloured and I swear I could smell smoke from the back. When I'm actually in game the corners are discoloured but the centre seems ok.

Is there anything I can do to save it?

Getting another CRT where I am seems basically impossible

Finding the Right Upscaler for my PS2

So I just recently got a PS2 again and it looks pretty rough on the TVs I have available as I kinda expected (modern flatscreen, a smaller, older LCD with burn in, and an old plasma but it's a bit busted and can only output video through HDMI these days so I use a Hyperkin PS2 HDMI cable on it).

Ideally I'd get a CRT but they're really hard to find where I am, I've looked and there's basically nothing. The only option I have is an old CRT my partner's mum has in her shed but it's absolutely massive, weighs like 80 something kilos.
It'd be incredibly hard to transport and idk if we have space for it, so I was looking into upscalers.

I think what I want out of these things is kinda different to what most people seem to so it's made it hard to find one that suits me.
That's partly cause a lot of review videos on these things just don't show the parts I'm interested in, namely CRT and scanline filters and things to soften the image, because it seems they aren't interested in that stuff as much.
Most people online seem to prioritise a sharper image but I much prefer softer images and find the sharper look pretty unappealing.

What I really want out of one of these things is at least a softer, less jaggy image and mainly for 2D art to not look so pixelated and rough, like I was playing Crash Twinsanity and all the text looks incredibly pixelated.

I did find one video that showed off the different CRT emulation options on the Retrotink 5X pro, and there were a couple that looked good to me, especially consumer1 I think it was called, which I really liked, if that gives anyone who has one an idea of what kind of look I'm after.

I can afford the Retrotink worst case scenario but it's still a lot of money, like more than double what I paid for the console itself, so I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the cheaper alternatives could achieve the kind of look I'm after?

Black screen after finishing Onderon

I'm getting a game breaking bug on Onderon in Kotor 2 and haven't found anyone else having it save one post that didn't get an answer, basically after I beat Vaklu and he's either executed or taken away the game fades to black and then it just stays black.

I can open the menu, I tried saving a game and loading it but it just drops me back where I was but with no Vaklu or Talia and everyone just keeps acting like the fighting is still going on so Kavar won't talk to me, so that doesn't fix anything.

I'm not sure what to do here, I'm deep into this playthrough, Onderon was my last planet and I don't wanna have to drop it now.

I'm using TSLRCM and M4-78
