Android (and controller) support for my new SWArmada project!

Since I released SWArmada last week or so, I’ve loved seeing some of the community really enjoying it! I've had the chance to play and chat with you guys and what an awesome community of people! One of y’all reached out asking about Android support, so naturally I went down the rabbit hole and made it happen! I've tested it as much as I could, but have really valued your guys feedback and issue submissions on GitHub so as always let me know there if you find anything!

0.1.6 adds Android support, Onager ignition attacks, lots of other random rule mechanic fixes, much better controller support, improved combat animations, and more based on everyone’s feedback.

Thanks so much again to everyone who’s played, reported bugs, or shared suggestions!

It will download automatically on launch for anyone with an older version, but if it's your first time hearing about it then download it here:

My plan for 0.2.0 in the near future is single player AI, Clone Wars factions, and any interesting or requested custom community content!

Just released the new version of my Armada video game adaptation!

Hey y’all! A few days ago I shared the first version of the Armada video game adaptation I’ve been building in Unity, and the response and feedback from everyone here was awesome!

Version 0.1.3 is now live, with the biggest addition being three fully playable objective modes:

Intel Retrieval - Download, carry, defend, and deliver Intel tokens.

Seize the Station - Capture and hold the station at the center of the board.

Escort the VIP - Escort a faction-specific transport to extraction or destroy it before it gets there.

I also added an Official/Custom fleet-rules switch, fleet importing from text lists (from tools like Ryan Kingston or Star Forge), direct messages and improved online invitations, an automatic updater, and a ton of fixes to movement, ramming, firing arcs, range, squadron speed, defense tokens, multiplayer, and the UI.

A lot of this came directly from the feedback on my original post, so seriously, thank you guys! Windows and Linux builds are both available. Will add Mac if it's requested!

Republic and Separatist fleets are being saved for 0.2.0 so I can give them the attention they deserve... I've started to look into how to implement some single-player AI stuff too so we'll see what happens!

I tested most of what I could and I can push small updates relatively , and hopefully the auto-updater will work moving forward (starting with this version it should notify you on launch and auto-download the latest release from GitHub if it queries a higher version number). Much love to you guys and hope you're enjoying!

Bought a resin printer 3 years ago, haven't used it once

I've owned FDM printers for like 8 years now, have shelves of them, and have immensely enjoyed designing and printing things. Resin printing seemed like a natural step in a cool direction to get better detail out of certain things, so I bought the photon mono 6k and the wash/cure station and put it in my windowless garage. Every time I tried to learn the slicing, lurked the subreddit, or watched videos, I would get a little discouraged. Maybe my brain just wasn't 100% present when trying to dedicate the time to learning it, who knows, but it seemed like it was an exponentially more involved process. I'm not necessarily super put off by that as I have a workshop full of hazardous and involved things so it's hard to pin down the blocker here lol!

If my goal is to print super small things like details for prop blasters, or little spaceship models, etc, could I print solid and reduce some of the interior curing headache? Do you just pour the extra resin back into the bottle and wipe the machine down and call it a day? Are the slicing profiles that come with the newer software sufficient for my intended use cases? Many of these questions seem to get varying levels of answers, so figured I'd toss my log in the fire here.

Guess I'm just looking for a little push, because I would love to finally have that "you used the damn thing and it wasn't as crazy as you built it up to be" moment!

I built a video game adaptation of Star Wars: Armada!

As a life-long Star Wars fan, I decided last year that my first foray into learning tabletop games should be set in my favorite universe - so my friend and I learned about Armada, downloaded the beloved TTS mod, and had an absolute blast. I wanted a cool and immersive way to share the game with some other friends that would maybe just appreciate a little bit more of a guided video game-y experience without all of the tabletop elements. I'm by no means a game dev, but wanted to use this side-project as a way to get into Unity. I've had a lot of fun making this and in no way want to replace the incredible experience that is the tabletop mod; I could have kept it as a little private project, but wanted to add another way for the community to enjoy the game if you guys liked it! Let me know!

It currently only includes the base Rebel/Imperial set and no objective play yet - but has the 3D tactical battles, fleet building, capital ships and squadrons, firing arcs and range bands, command dials, local hotseat play, online multiplayer, and a custom map maker all implemented.

It’s still early in development and I'm sure there are plenty of bugs to report. I've tried my best to make sure the UI is intuitive and that all the upgrade cards' logic works.
