I just learned that Murdoch Mysteries was inspired by a real-life Toronto detective, Inspector John Murray, whose life first inspired The Great Detective! Have you watched it?
On my rewatch and in S9. George just never seems to amaze me. He’s ridiculously humble/ realistic -accepts his new constable one role and never flexes his achievements!!!

I’m on my rewatch and noticing characters out n about late in the night either working or at events.
For ex Murdoch and Julia take dance classes after work- S2E2 snakes and ladders episode - but it seemed like Julia was workin late and then went to the class.
I’m curious if murdoch seems to not credit Julia for a lot of the ideas she comes up with during brainstorming?
For example: While examining the decades-old skeletal remains, Julia notes the specific positioning, bone wear, and injury patterns to determine that Shanly - the victim was a lefty.
Julia is the one who discovers the vital clue but in the end Murdoch doesn’t mention Julia’s help to the inspector! Am I missing something?

The show creates a fantasy of institutional intimacy that I wonder how many of us ever experience in real life. A group of brilliant, mission-driven adults who are loyal not because they have to be, but because they believe in each other and in the work. Sam, Josh, CJ, Toby, Leo, Donna, Charlie, Margaret… they function like a family system built around shared purpose/values/ love. The writing makes competence truly feel emotionally safe!
