Trading 2026 Galaxy Base

I opened four boxes of 2026 Galaxy and I have 46 of the base set to go. Absolutely insane. I thought for spending over $1,000 I at least wouldn’t have to hunt down many base cards, but here we are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2026 Galaxy Base Doubles

I got four boxes of 2026 Galaxy. Opened the first box and no doubles. Good start! Got about half the base set down! Second box had 50 doubles. I gained one new base card.

When I’m opening four boxes I expect to be very close to completing a 100 card base set and I’m fine with having to go out and buy a couple to complete it, but this is ridiculous. Excited to see what the next two boxes bring. Hopefully they will have the other half! Other than that, loving it so far and got a couple big hits.

Anybody else experience anything similar?

New Charcoal Grill

I have a cheap charcoal grill (maybe $50 from Walmart) and I am looking to upgrade. I will probably stick mostly to grilling, so anything that takes 5-20 minutes or so. Just curious what upgrades would be worth it so I am not paying for something that is more meant to barbecue for eight hours. Since I do most of my shopping at Menards, I thought I would start with what they have, so curious if any thoughts or recommendations on the Napoleon Professional 22” charcoal kettle, the Brand-Man Rodeo Steel Kamodo charcoal or the Charbroil Tru-Infrared Kettleman charcoal grill. Open to anything else as well, I just love my 11% rebates!

Thermometer

I have been thinking about getting a new thermometer and randomly came across an article on the “21 best grill accessories.” The two thermometers listed was the ThermoWorks Thermapen One and the Meater Plus Wireless Meat Thermometer. Any thoughts out there on either of these? Or thoughts on wireless in general?

Card Design Consistency

Are there any sets out there for NFL, NBA and MLB that have a consistent look over many years? I’m a Packers fan, so I would like some sort of consistent look for a Favre/ Rodgers/ Love card. Ultimately looking to collect some of my favorite players from each sport over the last 25 years, but I don’t want it to look like a complete hodgepodge either.

In an ideal world since I am looking for maybe just nine to fill a binder page for each sport, these would be on the higher end, low-numbered parallels or inserts rather than base cards or similar.

Any advice or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated, or maybe I’ll just have to change my expectation.

Topps Pricing

I see the Topps Chrome® UEFA Women's Champions League 2025/26 is currently available for $100/ hobby box. Maybe I am stating the obvious here, but does this show closer to an actual fair price to be people that Topps can do these sets for versus the many hundreds more per box for other sports/ themes?

I realize autographs and licensing must cost more for other stuff, but that much more? Just curious on other thoughts as that really jumped out at me seeing the recent prices for other hobby boxes.

Ultimately Topps is a company trying to make money, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating as a fan, consumer.

Claim or out of pocket?

I realize there are a ton of variables, but wondering if anybody out there has any sort of experience to at least give me an idea since I couldn’t get anything out of the agent.

Currently getting auto insurance through Erie for about $800 or so annually for our two vehicles. Our one and a half year old van needs about $3,700 in body work. We have a $500 deductible.

Better to file a claim and pay the $500 or save the claim and pay out of pocket $3,700? Seems like an easy choice, but I was told Erie will put a surcharge on it going forward if we file a claim. Should I expect that to go up to $1,000 going forward (all else equal, not taking into account regular price increases)? $1,200? Will it double to $1,600?

I obviously want to save the $3,200 now, but not if it means paying an extra $5,000 over the next 10 years, especially when coupled with the fear of a possible second, unavoidable claim if needed in there.

Practical Repair Job?

Is this a practical fix to do at home? I found these two repair kits at AutoZone. Curious if I can get it 80-90% of the way there or if attempting these suction cups and hammers at home just makes it worse. I realize it is a big dent and not sure if these are intended for something of this size.

Stellar Art Cards

Is there any difference between the numbered and non-numbered Stellar Art cards from Smugglers Outpost? Or is it just the color of the foil at the bottom?
