Reformed “collector”

Reformed “collector”

I sold off the collection a few years back and started carrying things that met 3 criteria.

  1. fills a utilitarian purpose.
  2. I would actually enjoy using.
  3. I liked the general look of.

Since then, I’ve been reminded almost daily that one good knife I’m not afraid to use is better than 100 I am afraid to use. I used to cringe at people who said they liked their gear to have wear. Scratches would mess with my head. I wanted all of my gear to remain perfect. Those were just silly mental hangups. This knife has been on my hip every day for the last year, through multiple mountain ranges, used all the time around the house/yard, and handed to the girlfriend many times. There is something special about having one knife you’d take to hell and back. I understand what those people meant when they said they liked their gear to have character now. The safe queens would never go deep into the mountains with me. This one will.

I would love to see your “one knife”. The one you’ve got actual mileage with. The one you’ve actually used. The one you’d go to hell and back with. Post em up here. Bonus points if you include a cool story of how you actually used it.

Inability to commit to business ideas

Hi,

I’ve started numerous businesses over the last decade or so. Some make money. Some don’t get past the build stage. None have been successful. This is primarily because I reach a point with all of them where I feel a sense of inadequacy and like my effort is not equating to the return. The systems are in place. The business is legitimized. I just can’t get past the “asking people for money” stage or the “messy” stage. I inevitably get triggered and think of all the reasons why this is the wrong idea and why I need to try something else. Sometimes I will even go back to a previous idea I’ve had that I already know wasn’t right. It feels like an escape mechanism. It feels illogical. Multiple people have told me I need to commit to something to see success and money. They all say I am extremely capable but I don’t commit enough time to anything to let it grow.

It’s seriously impacting my life at this point. I feel like I have an inadequacy wound from my childhood that gets triggered by the “invisible” & “messy” stage of business start up. Has anyone dealt with this? How do I solve this once and for all? My family plans depend on me getting my shit together.

I’m specifically looking for insightful answers as the typical alpha business bro content doesn’t resonate at all with me. This feels like a psychological issue. Not a work ethic issue. People have repeatedly identified my intelligence, capability, and work ethic. I just can’t stop running away from the business as a whole when it is all on my shoulders and I get zero feedback/lack short frame feedback loops.

Thank you for the help!

Half Face Blades Humint 3”

Love this thing. Perfect for IWB carry. 3” dagger blade with a full size 4” handle that feels incredibly comfortable regardless of grip position. Not as flashy but that’s not the point of something like this.

Benchmade Bailout with Rockscale Titanium Scales.

Was skeptical at first but me like. Grip texture on the stock aluminum scales is literally slippery. Grivory scales are flexible. These Ti scales have a slight blasted grippy texture.

Most popular game modes on BF6 PS5 with crossplay off?

I prefer rush but I can’t find full matches and games end with half or more of the players as bots.
