Help: The BOB Eterna card was promised as LTF by the agent (on WhatsApp), but now BOB says it's chargeable on mail. What are my options? Already activated

Hey everyone, I'm stuck in a mess with BOBCARD and could really use some advice.

I applied for the BOB Eterna card on 25 Aug through a sales executive. The only reason I went ahead is that he told me, multiple times, that it was lifetime free. When I applied, the BOBCARD offer page showed it as LTF too, as a limited-period offer.

After the card was approved, I wanted something in writing, so I started asking him on WhatsApp. He kept confirming:

  • 1 Sep: I asked if it would be lifetime free or just first-year free. He replied "LTF".
  • 18 and 19 Sep: "LTF hai", and "offer time pe kiya hua hai".
  • He even sent me a screenshot of the offer page with the joining and annual fees struck off and a "Lifetime Free (limited period offer)" stamp.
  • 21 Sep: he told me that when my application was logged on 25 Aug, it was LTF.

In the meantime I emailed BOBCARD's CRM and escalation addresses several times and got ticket numbers. Their only real reply, on 17 Sep, said the card is issued on a "Normal Fee Plan" and joining/annual fees apply as per the MITC. It didn't address my mis-selling complaint at all. My emails on 18 and 21 Sep got no reply. Customer care didn't pick up my calls for weeks, and when someone finally did today, they confirmed it's a normal plan.

This card is useless to me if it isn't lifetime free, and I'm not in a position to pay fees on something I only took because it was free.

Here's what I've done so far:

  • I sent a formal complaint email with everything attached: WhatsApp screenshots, email threads, ticket numbers. I asked them to either convert the card to LTF or close it with zero charges, and to compensate me for the time I've lost.
  • I gave them until 8 Oct to respond in writing. If they don't, I'll file a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman on 9 Oct.

My questions:

  1. Did I handle this the right way, or should I be doing something else, like going to the nodal officer, filing a consumer complaint, or posting on social media?
  2. All my proof of the LTF promise is on WhatsApp: the rep's own messages and the offer screenshot he sent me. Will that be taken as valid evidence, or can they just say the rep had no authority to promise this?
  3. I have already activated the card. Is there anything I should or shouldn't do before this is resolved, like try closing it because joining fees levied?

Has anyone been through this with BOBCARD or the Ombudsman? How long did it take, and did it work out for you? Any advice is appreciated.

Duronto ticket booked with no food - pantry guy saying that he can give food with "no bill"

So basically I boarded a 30 hr Duronto train today and the pantry guy asked if I wanted food. I didn't book food because it's very costly for me and I told him the same.

He asked me what's my plan for food, i mentioned that I will buy it at the station as it's cheaper for my pocket.

He's proposing to give me the same food as others for the entire journey for 450 rs (it was 605 with the ticket waise) and it's originally worth 765 rs if I take it with bill now. He's saying that he will get me extra food/ food which customers don't have despite booking and that food will be wasted anyways

Is 450 a nice price for 4 meals? Also, is taking food this way illegal/ morally wrong? Idk please help me. I am feeling tempted to take the offer

Feeling stuck between going child free or not because of childhood experiences and love for kids

Folks,

I (22) feel that I am at a crucial juncture in my life as I have entered adulthood. I love being around kids and teaching and playing them. Sometimes I feel so much love when I think about the idea of seeing someone grow, walk for the first time, caring for someone unconditionally with no motives, seeing the world through their lens and finally letting them go as an empathetic adult who make the world a better place.

But I feel I shouldn't ever have a kid or adopt one. Primarily because my childhood was pretty abusive and toxic thanks to my parents. I can never accept it in person but they never deserved a kid or maybe they were trying their best and things were just equally Bad for them. My biggest fear is that I am turning just like my mom who has so many issues and shortcomings. I fear that I unconsciously will behave with my kids the same way my mom behaved with me and that will for sure break me. That screaming , that silent treatment, those judgments on my bodily features. I can't take that risk for sure. So maybe I am over exaggerating.

I don't know where to go from here, I have no one talk about my feelings or how my parents have wronged me but then again maybe I am the bad child.
