Clozapine

Any success stories with it ?
I’m so desperate, everything gives me akathisia. Literally bawling my eyes out right now cause I don’t see the end of it.
I feel like this is my last option but I’m too scared of the dangerous side effects.

Would love some explanations/ words of encouragement.

My new normal feels weird

I’m on quetiapine olanzapine propranolol and I feel pretty good despite of mild agitation. But I feel so freaking different, does that make sense ??? I don’t know how to explain I’m still me but everything feels so different. Also feels weird to not hear anything anymore. I still heard a few things on quetiapine only but my thoughts don’t feel the same now. I guess it’s a good thing but I’m not used to it.

Edit : schizoaffective bipolar type here

Akathisia with every AP

For those of you who develop akathesia on every AP which one did you take that worked out for you? Seroquel is the only one that doesn’t give me akathesia but even olanzapine does.
Aripiprazole cariprazine latuda all the same sh**
I’m starting to feel hopeless please help me…

Does it make sense

Olanzapine 5 mg works so fucking great against voices and as a mood stabilizer but I get mild akethesia from it so my psych is adding seroquel (which I used to take at 550 mg) at 100 mg xr a day (50 twice a day) to help with anxiety and akathesia (it works great for me) I’m a bit scared to take 2 medications though any thoughts ? Does that mix make sense?

Withdrawals and propranolol

I’m going through hell switching from seroquel to olanzapine it’s been week 2 and I feel so keyed up it’s starting to drive me nuts. I have lorazepam as needed but I don’t want to get addicted I thought of asking for propranolol any positive experience with that ?

Need some words of encouragement

I’m on day 10 switching from seroquel 550 XR to olanzapine 10 mg withdrawal effects are not fun 😩 feeling so anxious and tensed constantly. I take lorazepam when really I can’t take it anymore but I want to avoid it as much as possible. has anyone done that same switch ? Is this gonna get better ? I’m terrified to stay stuck and it will never improved. Also my psych went on holiday literally during my switch I don’t even know when he comes back and that makes me even more anxious. 🥲

Fear to get addicted to benzo

I’m going from seroquel to olanzapine it’s day 6 I feel like I’m tolerating olanzapine pretty good but I get horrible withdrawal symptoms from seroquel. My dr prescribed lorazepam to help but I’m scared to get addicted. Do you know after how long and how much do you get addicted ? 0.5 mg is enough to make the body aches and restlessness go away in two days I’ve taken 1.5 mg only. He wrote up to 2 mg a day if needed but that seems a lot to me.

Going from seroquel to olanzapine tomorrow

I’m actually excited but I’m going straight from 550 mg seroquel to 10 mg olanzapine. What should I expect anyone has gone straight from one to the other without taper ?

Akathesia every time

Have any of you developed severe akathesia every time they tired different medication?

I had it with Vraylar, Abilify, Latuda

Only one I didn’t have is quetiapine but I’m struggling with the hunger.

Has anyone been in my shoes ? What did you do ?

Desperate

Ok so Latuda was a really bad try gave me insane akethesia I wanted to jump out my window so ended up in psychiatric ER.

I’ve tried 3 activating antipsychotics it’s just not working for me. What about Olanzapine? Have some of you not gained weight on it ? I’ve heard it’s incredible for psychotic symptoms which is what I suffer the most with. (Apparently I’m not bipolar but schizoaffective bipolar type yeepee)

I stopped seroquel because of the crazy hunger and because it’s not strong enough for the voices.

Any thoughts advice ? They said that 3rd generation antipsychotics should not be a thing for me because every single time I let akathesia.

Cross taper seroquel latuda

I’m on day 5 of cross taper from seroquel to latuda. It’s going really well. Only thing is that for 2 days I been feeling mildly restless it’s not unbearable but I hope it will go away. Could this go away as I get used to the medication?

Also caffeine seems to calm me down… wtf?

Thank you

Change of meds need a bit of support

Hi I’m changing medication tomorrow (cross taper) and am terrified cause two years ago I tried two medications that gave me insane akathesia with no way to sleep. I had a sedating AP for 2 years that worked great but side effects have become too difficult as we’ve increased the dose. My doctor is switching me to a more activating type and I’m so scared knowing what happened last time. Just having nice words of support would be helpful 🥹
