Question about buying used consoles and other electronics

How many of you guys inspect what consoles/electronics you buy internally? I've recently developed a new fear of picking up little critters like, buggy pests. I've been flipping for a little bit and it's been a little successful, but how much of an issue is this in reality? Should I start wearing gloves and opening up all my consoles outside to make sure I'm not bringing anything in? What's the best, most efficient way to do it that should garuntee I don't bring anything home with me? I really love this hobby and it brings me much more joy than my office job, and I don't want this ocd bug obsession to ruin it for me. Thank you all!!!

Please be brutally honest, is it rude to ask sellers if they are a bug-free house?

I love flea markets and garage sells and I've never had an issue out of anything I've ever bought, but I've recently developed a phobia of picking up pests off second hand items. Would it be rude to ask people this question, I would be afraid they would think im judging the cleanliness of what I'm buying, however this is not the case. i'm just severely ocd about these kinds of things

Walked through my front door in (WV, USA) and this little guy ran from me. Should I be worried?

I think this could potentially be a beetle but it also wouldn't explain why it ran from me after turning on a light. My fiance, who has had roaches in the past seems to think this is not a roach. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
