Help! I-131 pending, close to 1 year outside U.S. – what happens if not approved?

My mother is a U.S. green card holder. We filed Form I-131 (reentry permit) in June 2025 and she left the U.S. in August 2025 after doing her pinger prints at the USCIS center.

She has to stay abroad because my younger special need sister is alone back home and cannot be left by herself. My sister also has an immigration case through my mother, but it will take about 3–4 years before she can join us in the U.S.

We applied for the reentry permit so my mother could stay outside the U.S. for up to ~2 years and still maintain her residency by traveling back and forth. However, we are now approaching the 1-year mark outside the U.S., and the I-131 is still pending.

Our family concerns:

What happens if she crosses 1 year outside the U.S. while I-131 is still pending?

If the reentry permit is denied or never approved, what happens to her green card?

Any options at this point? I contacted USCIS through call and live chat, they say we have to wait and they cannot or will not comment more.

Got Pulled over for red light — dashcam shows I didn’t. Want to complain about the stop

Got pulled over for allegedly running a red light, but my dashcam clearly shows I entered on yellow and was already in the intersection when it turned red. I was also doing speed limit, 27 in 35 when crossing the intersection.

Officer still stopped me but ended up letting me go with only a warning (no ticket). Now I dont know if he logged it in the system or no.

I’m honestly pissed because it felt like an unfair stop.
I’ve never been pulled over before and have a completely clean driving record.

Is it worth filing a complaint over this or just letting it go? Can I even complain about this? Reason I want to complain is, his “warning” might show up if I ever get pulled over again.

Note: I had my 8-month pregnant wife and 14-month-old son in the car, so I would not intentionally run a red light ever.

U.S Dual Citizen -Turkish Border Police Made Phone Calls Both Entering and Exiting — Anyone Else Experience This?

I am a U.S. citizen and was traveling through Turkey on a layover. I left the airport during a long stopover and later re-entered to catch my flight.

When I entered Turkey, the border officer made a phone call before letting me through. Today, when I was leaving Turkey, the officer again made a phone call before stamping my passport for exit.

I was traveling on my U.S. passport. My travel companion was also a U.S. citizen but a Born in U.S citizen, but no phone calls were made in his case. He is originally Vietnamese.

The calls only lasted a short time, and I was allowed through both times without any issues or questions.

Has anyone else experienced this in Turkey? Any idea what they might have been checking? It concerned me a little. TIA

Edit: I am not a Turkish Citizen.

Adding Joint Sponsor After Interview

Hi, We have to add a Joint Sponsor on the CEAC website per the US embassy after my wife had her interview. However, the CEAC website does not allow and does not have a button anymore to add a Joint Sponsor. Will NVC re-active the button if I send a NVC inquiry? or should I add the Joint Sponsor documents under the petitioner "Optional Documents" which I still can upload docs?

Thanks

Transportation

Hi,

I’m not from Turkey and I’ll be visiting Karabük in the next two weeks. I’ll be landing at Ankara Airport, which is about 2.5 hours away by car. Does anyone know the most reliable and affordable way to get there?

Thanks!
