Using Festool CT26 EI power pass through to run Carbide 3D 65 mm VFD spindle?

Is anyone using the CT 26 outlet to power the 65 mm VFD spindle? The vacuum says 3.6 amps but their track saws pull over 13 amps. The spindle says it pulls 7. I understand the track saw has a higher in rush and runs in shorter bursts compared to the longer runs of the cnc.

Adjusting the z axis

I just ran the flattening program by Kevin in mycarbide3d using the McFly which worked well. It has left some ridges where it looks like the z-axis is tilted slightly toward the front of the machine and also slightly to the left side as you look from the front.

Is there a way to adjust this to be more consistent? In the grand scheme probably close enough for anything I will do, but OCD about it. Machine is the shapeoko 5.1 pro 4x4

Back or no back in upper built ins?

First off not my work, pictures others posted on social media. When you have “upper” cabinets resting on countertops do you put backs in or painting the wall to match?

If you do put in a back is it free floating at the bottom?

The cabinets I have built in the past always had doors so I would just build them like an upper cabinet with a bottom that has a groove for a back with nailers behind that, but since I want to see the countertop I have been trying to figure out the best way to secure the bottom part of the back panel. Also if there isn’t a back how are the sides kept from moving around? I was thinking of securing from the underside or having some space between the cabinets that I could have a little sleeper piece fastened to the countertop and then attach the sides to it.

Are there drill bits for a spindle?

Just got a Shapeoko 5.1 pro 4x4. Years ago I ran a CNC in a commercial cabinetry shop but haven’t done anything CNC related for close to 20 years. We ran drill bits in helicoils for adjustable shelfs, hinge mounting plates, and dowel holes. I haven’t been able to find drill bits that would work in the 65mm VFD ER16 collet. Thinking of using the 1/4” shank size. Wanting from 4mm to 8mm diameter. Is that an option or just use a small end mill to ”pocket” a hole?

Selecting CNC for my needs

I am looking at getting a CNC for mostly my own goofing around. I ran a large CNC for a cabinet shop 20 years ago, but haven’t been up on smaller setups. I would like to be able to put a 4’x4’ of plywood and have it cut out 2 cabinet sides around 24”x36” with a dado for the back and spot holes for hardware. I am looking at the Shapeoko 5.1 pro or Onefinity Elite Foreman. Will either of these machines work for this? I would also like to do some carving as well.
