Safe to mod SP heavily if I play RDO too? What's your workflow?

If I mod the hell out of SP, do I need to manually disable everything before jumping into RDO, or does the game handle that?

I know Rockstar's anti-cheat doesn't mess around and I'd rather not catch a ban just for having ScriptHook or an ASI loader sitting in my game folder. What's the safest workflow you guys use — manual file swapping, a mod manager, separate installs? Any specific files I absolutely need to clear out before going Online?

Appreciate any advice from people who've actually dealt with this.

Thailand wildlife tourism

Ok so let's say hypothetically, I'm planning a trip to Southeast Asia and especially Thailand and I really wanna observe the wildlife, ethically ofc.

I've been on wildlife tours in South Africa, India, Central America, etc. so I'd love to do this.

I also understand that I probably won't see everything, especially not rare, shy animals like tigers, but I really wanna just be out in the jungle.

So, for a park like Huai Kha Khaeng or Khao Yai, what's the best way to go about a Southeast Asian safari. Ideally, I'd like to go in a fairly small group with a guide who knows their stuff regarding wildlife.

Also, I'm reluctant to do any wildlife sanctuaries. I know Josh Plotnik, who does work in Thailand, so I'll ask him about ethical elephant sanctuaries.

Outside of Thailand, I'd love to visit places like this

Looking for a 2K gaming PC — found a great prebuilt but it's sold out. Worth waiting or should I just build?

Here's the post with link placeholders:

Title: Looking for a 2K gaming PC — found a great prebuilt but it's sold out. Worth waiting or should I just build?

Hey r/Prebuilts! I'm looking to get into 2K gaming and have been doing a lot of research. I put together a custom build on PCPartPicker that I'm happy with, but I'd love to save money if a good prebuilt exists.

My custom build (~$2,600 after rebates): PCPartPicker List

  • AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
  • Asus B650E MAX GAMING WIFI Motherboard
  • 32GB Crucial Pro DDR5-6000 CL36
  • 2TB Crucial BX500 SSD + 4TB Seagate BarraCuda HDD
  • Corsair RM850e PSU
  • Acer Nitro XV1 27" 1440p 180Hz Monitor

I'm comfortable building myself, but I stumbled across the PowerSpec G729 at Micro Center ($1,699.99) which has the same core specs (7800X3D, RX 9070 XT, 32GB DDR5-6000, 2TB NVMe). That's nearly $900 cheaper. The only things I'd need to add are a 4TB HDD (~$60-80) and a monitor separately, and I'll be installing Bazzite over Windows anyway so that's a non-issue.

Problem is it's sold out at my local Micro Center (Westbury, NY). I've already contacted their customer support to ask about restocking and availability at other locations. Has anyone seen this one in stock recently, or know if Micro Center restocks these frequently?

Also open to other prebuilt suggestions that match these specs at a lower price point than building. Happy to build if nothing beats it on value though!

Planet Zoo Visual Ranking Poll

Hello, me again

I'm making a tier list of the visual aspects of the Planet Zoo animals: those being models, textures, and the animations.

I know I already made this post but I redid some stuff and had to delete the current data so I'd deeply appreciate if y'all could take it again

Planet Zoo Visual Ranking Poll

Another poll

This time, on how the animals look and which ones you think could use a touch up or a visual overhaul.

More's explained in the poll itself. My only ask is that y'all take each vote into careful consideration; even look at (vanilla) gameplay if you can

Good eats around Barclay's Center after around 4-5:30

So I got my commencement on June 4th from 2:00 - 5:30 though odds are I'll duck out with my family around 4 so I'd love to find a nice spot for a late lunch/early dinner/whatever around Barclay's Center or a stop or two beyond.

Only major consideration is that my mom's a pescatarian. My dad, older brother, and I will have pretty much anything though I want somewhere that's sit down.

How does PZ's animal market work?

I'm writing how I'd want the PZ economy changed and, having not played franchise in ages, is there somewhere I can read about it in detail?

I know the basics though I'm sure there are more details

Specifically, how does the game determine what an animal will sell for?

Very Stupid Question: Umamusume and Thomas

They're kinda the same but not really and I know Thomas is popular in Japan so why hasn't someone taken trains and made them into anime girls.

Or even the characters of the Railway series. Imagine a whole ass line of train anime girls from the show

You could even have a crossover for merch

Looking for a durable research workhorse; handle GIS and other ecology/ethology software

Hey all! Finishing my master's in animal behavior and shopping for a laptop that'll carry me into research. Buying refurbished on Back Market, ideally under $400 but willing to stretch to $500 for the right machine.

What I'll be running

  • GIS tools — QGIS mainly, possibly ArcGIS
  • R / RStudio for stats and spatial analysis
  • Ecology/ethology software: Program MARK, Distance Sampling, Movebank integrations
  • Potentially some remote sensing / satellite imagery work

Nothing that needs a GPU, but it can get CPU/RAM heavy — 16 GB RAM would be ideal.

Field conditions

I'll be doing fieldwork in places like sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia — heat, humidity, dust, the works. I don't need a ruggedized tank, just something that won't be fragile about it. Good repairability is a big plus (ThinkPad-style easy access to RAM/SSD, good parts availability).

OS

Installing Linux Mint. Solid out-of-the-box driver support is a must — especially Wi-Fi and trackpad. No fighting with obscure firmware.

What I'm eyeing

Older ThinkPad generations (T480, T490, X1 Carbon) seem like the obvious answer but open to other suggestions — Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, Framework, whatever makes sense at this budget refurbished. What are people in similar fields actually using?
