The Sinless Nature of Yahya (AS):

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is no one among the children of Adam who has not sinned or intended to commit a sin, except Yahya, the son of Zakariya."

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA): When Uyaynah ibn Hisn came to Medina and spoke harshly to the Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), Hurr ibn Qays recited this verse (7:199) to Umar. Upon hearing this verse, Umar stopped immediately and did not react with anger, as he was strict in adhering to the Book of Allah.

Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Singling out a specific day or night each year as an annual religious season (Eid) or act of worship—such as ritual slaughter or special gatherings for the Mawlid—requires proof from the Quran or Sunnah. The Prophet ﷺ, the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, the Sahabah, and the four Imams (Abu Hanifa, Malik, al-Shafi'i, and Ahmad) never practiced this despite having the complete capacity and greater love for the Prophet ﷺ than anyone today. Therefore, true veneration and love are shown by adhering strictly to his Sunnah rather than adding newly invented rituals."

Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA) was one of the greatest men in Islam - feared he might be a hypocrite.

"I adjure you by Allah, am I among them?" Hudhayfah replied, "No, and I will not declare anyone else clear after you."

"O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day.
That is the best [way] and best in result." Surah An-Nisa | ayah:59
The term Salaf was used by the Prophet a himself in a linguistic and spiritual sense when speaking to his daughter Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her):

Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Baz highlighted its central role in establishing pure devotion to Allah:
Statement of Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Baz رحمه الله : “Allah prescribed that His servants must recite Surah Al-Fatiha in every unit (rak’ah) of prayer... This great Surah of Al-Fatihah includes praising and glorifying Allah. It declares that Allah Alone is worthy of being worshipped and sought for help. It instructs and guides people to ask Allah to guide them to Al-Sirat al-Mustaqeem (the Straight Path). It forms the core of Tawheed and sincere worship.”

Shaykh ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen emphasized why it is named Umm al-Qur’an (the Mother of the Qur’an):
Statement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله: “The scholars have noted that this chapter comprises, in general, the core meanings of the entire Qur’an—with regards to Tawheed (monotheism), legislative rulings, rewards and recompense, and the paths people take. For this reason, it has been referred to as Umm al-Qur’an (The Mother of the Qur’an), as the foundation or origin of a thing is called its ‘mother’.”

The Qur’an consistently reinforces this duality—urging composure in seeking Dunya and intense acceleration for Akhirah.
“And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah, so will you not reason?”

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explicitly taught the concept of being deliberate and calm in worldly life, while maintaining extreme urgency regarding acts of worship.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Hasten to do good deeds before you are overtaken by seven things...” He then listed poverty, distracting wealth, debilitating illness, senility, sudden death, the Dajjal, or the Hour.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated that Allah said in a Hadith Qudsi: “...And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the religious duties I have obligated upon him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks...”

The Guarantee of Provision: "And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and its place of storage. All is in a clear register." Hud | ayah:6
"...And whoever fears Allah—He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah—then He is sufficient for him..." At-Talaq | ayah:2-3

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother's womb for forty days... then the angel is sent to him and breathes the soul into him, and is commanded with four words: to write down his provision (Rizq), his life span, his deeds, and whether he will be wretched or blessed..." "And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah will be the outcome of [all] matters."

"But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "None of you [truly] believes until his desires are subservient to that which I have brought."

Islam isn't just a label. It's an active practice: knowing your creed, worshiping Allah alone, and learning the fundamentals.

Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan: This noble verse was mentioned by Allah, the Almighty, when He spoke about the mosques. He, the Almighty, said: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly star lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light."
This means the light of the glass, together with the light of the fire, combined with the light of the pure olive oil—these are multiple lights that come together and are clear and pure. This serves as an example of the faith (Imaan) in the heart of a believer. The example of faith in the heart of a believer.
“[Such niches are] in houses which Allah has permitted to be raised..."and those are the mosques. Thus, the light of faith in the heart combines with the light of the mosques, which are the houses of Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He. Yes.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The greatest of the major sins is to associate partners with Allah.”

A believer’s character is shown by how they treat women—with mercy, respect, patience, and kindness. Following the example of the Prophet ﷺ means honoring and treating them well in all situations.

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted on the day of ’Ashura and commanded the people to fast, they said, “O Messenger of Allah, it is a day that the Jews and Christians honor.” He said: “If I live until next year, I will surely fast the ninth (as well).”
“The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram and Rajab.”
“The best fasting after Ramadan is Allah’s month, Muharram.”

“Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah from the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred.”

Muharram is one of the four sacred months. Increase in repentance, dhikr, good deeds, and fasting—especially on the Day of Ashura along with the 9th or 11th of Muharram.

“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”

“Indeed, Allah conferred a great favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.”

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whomever Allah intends good for, He gives him understanding of the religion.”

“All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” It was said: “Who would refuse, O Messenger of Allah?” He ﷺ said: “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me has refused.”
