I’m looking to purchase an SLK55 AMG r171. I am 19 turning 20, and entering my sophomore year of college. It would be my daily driver for the foreseeable future, but I know there’s nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes.

I originally wanted an SL500 R230 because I’ve been really wanting a convertible, but the ABC suspension worried me. I stumbled onto the SLK because it doesn’t have the ABC, and the AMG with the M113K seemed like the obvious choice. I’m going to go look at one tomorrow to get a feel for if it’s what I want or not. It also has 105XXX miles which is a lot but I’ve heard nothing but good things about the M113K so that’s the only reason i’m entertaining the idea.

Is there anything I should look for? I’m not planning on buying it tomorrow, but is the SLK something I should remove from my radar completely for someone my age? If it’s a money pit regardless of previous maintenance, then I’ll go back to researching miata’s, but I can’t get ofer the beauty of 2000s mercedes. thanks!!!
