Riddle me this.

I graduate with 3 honors degrees — 2 HPs, and 1 BSc in Business Information Technology.

Right after graduation, I somehow get a job without even applying for it. I get a call saying, “Someone higher up wants you to work for them.”

Cool! Great! Not the job I wanted, but I’m gonna take it.

I close the business I had been running throughout university because there was absolutely no way I could maintain both. I work for this company for a while and eventually realize it isn't the job for me.

Nothing out of the ordinary, right?

And just to be clear: I did not leave because of the workload or stress.

I genuinely did not care about unpaid overtime if I loved what I was doing. I didn't care if I had to do other people's jobs either. Give me more work? Sure. Throw me into something I've never done before? Fine. I actually realized pretty quickly that those kinds of high-pressure environments are where I thrive.

The problem was being mistreated by a couple of higher-ups, to the point where I just couldn't mentally handle it anymore.

So I leave.

I start applying for jobs.

Nothing.

So I start working for my friend's company for free, by choice, as an Operations Manager because I wanted to keep working, gain experience, and help them grow.

And somehow, we actually grow the company pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, I'm still applying for jobs because I'm making nothing at the current company and, again, I'm doing this by choice because I genuinely wanted to help my friend.

Then 2.5 YEARS pass.

Two and a half years of applying.

I've interviewed with HUGE companies. Companies that I genuinely thought, “Okay, surely this is it.”

And the responses I've gotten include:

• “We have filled the position.”
• “We don't think you're the right fit.” — immediately after an interview where I was literally told I was the right fit.
• “This isn't a job for women.” — probably my favorite one.
• “You're overqualified.”
• “You're underqualified.”

EXCUSE ME????

How am I simultaneously overqualified AND underqualified?

I've run a business. I've worked in a semi-government institution. I've been managing operations for another company. I've picked up responsibilities outside my actual roles and excelled at them. I've learned an absurd number of different skills because apparently I have a problem with saying “that's not my job.”

And yet somehow I'm still unemployable.

I'm not even looking for some six-figure dream job where I sit in a corner and tell people I'm a visionary.

I JUST WANT A JOB.

At this point, I'm convinced the solution is to remain unemployed until I forget everything I learned, become completely unqualified for every position, and simply rot away.

Maybe then I'll finally be the perfect candidate.

I’m sitting here with my Amazon Operations Manager interview starting in just a few hours, and I am officially losing it.

Amazon has been my ultimate goal since I graduated. I’ve had my eyes on this company for years, but the timing was never right until now. After five grueling months of job hunting, hundreds of applications, and constant rejections, I finally got the call, and from my dream company, no less.

The stakes feel massive, and it’s getting to me. I know the Amazon interview style is notoriously intense. I’ve prepared 5 solid stories using the STAR method, but every time I try to rehearse, I just... blank.

I know I’m good at my job. I have the results to prove it. But for some reason, my imposter syndrome goes into overdrive the second I’m in a room with people more experienced than me. It feels like I’m going to be "found out" at any moment.

Does anyone have any last-minute advice on how to stay calm, stop the "blanking," or handle the pressure of the Leadership Principles? I want this so badly, and I’m terrified I’m going to get in my own way.
