Just bought Logic Pro after spending 2 decades with GarageBand - any tips on initial setup would be so appreciated!

I started recording my own music when I bought my first iMac back in 2005. I didn’t have the time after having 3 kids between 09 and 13, but now that they’re older, I’m back at it.

I spent the last 18 months trying to make GarageBand work for me, but it just didn’t, so I finally bought LP about an hour ago. All I’ve messed with is compressors and… I mean, so much better!

I’m sure there will be a decent learning curve, so anything anyone has to offer would be super appreciated 🍻

This is a song about resentment - I tried something I’ve never tried before

I started this one on Friday and I’m pretty sure it’s done. I spent exactly 1 hr 58 minutes recording this tonight, I know it needs work on that front, I just wanted to get all of the parts down.

I sort of wanted it to be a surprise when listening, but the new thing I tried is a key change - it felt so much easier when singing along to songs in the 80s.

Anyway, I’m calling it Keen’s Point in homage to Sam Keen. His philosophy dealt with the toxicity of being resentful, which really resonated with me.

Just a guitar, some mics, my kids, and a whole lot of love.
