Venting

Tired af, I'm transitioning from junior role to mid level role. Not only I am lacking in knowledge, my last job also different path from the new one.

They expect me to know everything and sometime when I asked something to the seniors, they look annoyed and don't really fully answer my question. Not to mention sometime to solve some issue you need to find different people and some people don't really like doing it. I want to do the technical part not just go reach out multiple department just to get information and reach out users to solve their issue. Now just email reach out, meeting with users, meeting with higher up presenting..only little technical part.

When I go home, I need to study some of my jobs topics.. and sometime I'm too mentally tired just sit around my bed doom scrolling.. I have to take this to move up my career path and salary or I just stay stagnant.

Sometime I just want to stay as junior role forever but the salary man..fking life mann..hoping to retired already..or maybe be a farmer..

Rm600 - rent

Rm 1400 - makan, minyak, entertainment, personal item if needed

What left for me is 1000.

Right I'm planning to do asb financing 220 per month

Which left 800 more..

I already got 6 month salary saving in bank.

What can I invest, for short term and long term.

New Job - fortinet engineer

Hi all, I just land a job as a fortinet engineer. Issue is I'm a freshie with 1 year experience as support engineer. The company expect me to be expert in it and to be honest I'm in a situation of fake it till you make it. I've long left networking and forgot lots of things and honestly I don't know why they hired me at all.

My question is:

I want to start from zero back, what should I learn or what should I know about network to prepare myself for firewall engineer. To be exact, for nse4 fortinet level.

Lastly sorry if this is a stupid or ignorance question. I've given chance to work in secops so I don't want to waste it.

NSE4 certification

Hi, I'm still fresh in Fortinet firewall. My company required me to take NSE4 certification.

My question is what will be different after 14 July, because from my understanding we have to:

  1. take nse4 and pass it

  2. choose 1 nse 5 tracks and pass it

so what will be different and is my prep enough?

-do dummy question

-finish 13 hour course on Fortinet training

the lab is too expensive for me right now.

Vent on bilik sewa

Been renting this room for a out 2 month. Good area, spacious and near my work place. We got like 5 room and most of us just kept to ourselves and not usually interact with each other unless needed.

But this one guy fking annoying. I specifically asked the agent for non mixed gender house and he said this is male only house. but this guy kept bringing his gf. I don't really care much about that part, but the issue is they kept doing it on the bed shaking and the wall is plywood, and the bed kept banging the wall..Talking and laughing so loud and not to mention watching Tamil movie which got lot of music on a speaker at 12 am until 2 or 3 am..

I can't fking sleep much so I tune my sleep time to 8 pm to 12 am just to avoid the noise.I don't think it's a good idea to fight with someone on the same house. And I don't see reporting to the agent would change anything..it's stressful think the deposit money gonna be burn if I move and I don't get enough sleep for work..how do I approach this? Its suck to be light sleeper..
