Anyone else just absolutely DONE with trying 🥺

Has anyone else just absolutely had it/finished/ done with trying to find friends and become a complete introvert through circumstances/life on top of generally not being a particularly loud/chatty person. I don't think I can recall a single friendship ever where the other person even tried 5% effort. Its always me being friendly/cheerful etc and watching other people be increasingly distant. I've never been one for big loud groups etc but I've always had the hope that maybe out there is a bestie or close friend but nope- losing battle every time and repeatedly make the same mistake of trying. Now I don't think it will ever happen. Id rather be in the garden or out hiking by myself than tryna find relationships anymore. It seems that only very loud, demanding people have friendships and social lives and I just dont fit 😐🫤 much love to all :)

What sort of characters do you find difficult to be around?

ie traits of a person you dislike to be around. Mine would be people that tell their life story (after 1.5 seconds of knowing them) and people who like to explain obvious things at length when you didn't ask 🤭

Should I tell her not to next time?

I just dropped off my 8yr old daughter to a birthday party and she wanted to take a plushie with her. I worried maybe she might be too old to do this but said 'yes of course if you want to'.

As soon as we arrived- her friends start with

'oh my god you did NOT bring that with you?'

For such a young age it seemed quite catty? :(

She quickly left it on a chair and I thought about taking the plushie with me on leaving but I didn't wanna mention it in case all her friends heard.

Is 8 too old to take a plushie somewhere? I do notice that her friends are a bit more 'grown up' than her sometimes and whilst I don't like to encourage growing up fast I don't want anyone to tease her :( Im now counting down until I pick her up later

What's a weird thing you couldn't unsee when dating someone?

Did you ever date someone and notice/realise something that you couldn't unsee? I once dated a guy who had never heard of the contraceptive pill and didn't understand women's time of the month.. like at all... made me realise the age gap was too much and i quickly ended it. No hate- just random chat question! :) much love x x x

Blushing

I'm not a youngster anymore but all my life - my cheeks flush a terrible red if anyone looks at me.. ever. I've become excessively introverted as the years have gone on. No parties or gatherings, absolutely no environment where people might 'all look at me'. Work meetings and training days were basically hours of red cheeks staring at the floor (usually with people pointing/laughing/commenting on my face). Ive left one or two jobs over the years due to people giggling and pointing.

Ive finally found a wonderful job where only two of us work in a tiny office...

Its not something I can change and I feel it controls alot of my life. I do online food shopping/ click and collect as cashiers saying hello or asking for ID just made me extremely hot/red in the face.

Unfortunately it's a subject that alot people seem to enjoy laughing at or pointing out.

I only mention my age vaguely in the beginning as people often assume it's a young person/lack of experience/confidence issue.

Basically I'd like to know.. does anyone else have this?

It's not the soul reason I've become very introverted but I'd say it contributes towards it.

much love to all:) xx

Terrified of jury service

Ive just got in from work and found the letter. im just a regular joe in a normal job- i thought only professionals got called up.

I somehow need childcare cover on top of my usual work hours. I called the number and was probably the most sarcastic rude person ive encountered in a long time- talking 100mph about how I can claim back. I asked him to repeat it as i didn't understand and haven't had anything to do with legal/court stuff before and he just kept saying 'oh just ask your jury officier'.

Im absolutely petrified of being in groups of people and have an awful habit of my face going very very red when people look at me or talk to me in public.

I know theres no getting out of it- im just kind of shocked at the lack of information and only a few weeks notice. Its also over an hour commute so will be an hour at least to get home as well. Has anyone actually had a short/good experience with jury duty?
