Mosquito out of control from neighbors untreated standing water- looking for advice

My neighbor has a bunch of large rain water bins, bird baths in her yard. It’s a very cute and I have no problem with it, other than she’s not open to treating her water to prevent more mosquitoes.

She’s not the kind of person who goes off logic. She hires a mosquito spraying service, as we have SO many but also has a proud “pollinator garden”. But a mosquito dunk is toxic and horrible… honestly I just want to enjoy my backyard and the only way to truly get this under control is getting those large water buckets treated.

Does anyone have any advice for getting someone like that to accept mosquito dunks? Or an alternative solution to dunks she might accept?

Finally gaining weight and acting like insane kittens!

The baby girl came to me TINY!!! They’re both now normal weight and complete insanity 😂 I’m so glad they’re feeling better but now it’s endless energy 🙃

Possible torbie (foster kitten!)

She’s the runt and has been struggling to put on weight. I’m finally having success! Her eye color is coming in and she’s adorable. I have such a soft spot for torbies!

Scrap fabric oven curtain

I haven’t sewn since middle school, I wanted to start altering my clothes. I need some practice so I thought this would be a great way to have some fun.

All the fabric is scraps from either clothing or cloths that would have been donated otherwise.

Favorite stage then they become menaces

I loooove this stage. They have mostly solid poops and use the litter box consistently. They’re not super energized yet so they’ll don’t destroy everything around them yet. It lasts literally a week and soon they’ll be off and adopted :) which by then they’re usually absolutely menaces to society so I’m not that sad about them leaving. Bitter sweet!

Kitten litter box set up to prevent smell

I got shallow stainless steel catering pans for my kittens to use to go potty. They’re short enough for them to get in and out and I can fully sanitize them after each set of kittens! I also got a scoop I can fully sanitize and litter genie.

The place I foster from doesn’t provide litter, only pellets. So I just buy cheap litter from Aldi and get a donation slip for taxes!

This has completely changed the game for me. I couldn’t stand the smell or cleanup required for using cardboard pallets. This is much easier for me so I wanted to share :)

Kitten room flooring

I have a historic home, with original wood flooring. I want to use my office to foster but need ideas for temporary flooring or setups that I could use for my foster kittens.

Unfortunately we have only one, very tiny bathroom. I keep them in there when they first come home till the diarrhea stops. Then transfer them to my office. Any ideas for flooring I could use while that’s my foster room?

Cysts?

Has anyone else gotten large cysts with an IUD in?

For context, I’ve had occasional small cysts that resolve before. As most of us do. I’ve had an IUD (kyleena) for about a year now and I have a huge cyst that I probably need surgery for. I knew I had a cyst for awhile now, it’s been hurting. They found it while I was in the ER for a bowel obstruction, which was a complete fluke on its own. The surgeon said I’d probably need my ovary removed, which I took with a grain of salt because it’s not his specialty.

Has anyone else had issues with cysts out of no where after getting an IUD???

My foster kitten bit me when I grabbed him to give him his antibiotics. It wasn’t a playful bite at all, I have two puncture wounds from it and it hurts. I washed with antibacterial soap and put Neosporin on it. Is there anything else I should do to prevent an infection? Do I have to go get antibiotics for it, their teeth are so small.

The kitten is around 9ish weeks. They go on pre adoption tomorrow.

Moderately priced compressions ideas?

I just spent $300 on compressions for three pairs. I love them but I need some cheaper options so I’m not doing laundry all the time.

Also any options that don’t have obvious creases/indents..?

How likely is this white crap asbestos? 1920 home, multiple remodels.

We have mice and obviously a lot of rotted crap. I know we will need to fix it all BUT once I get it tested for asbestos. Even if it’s positive can I remove it if it’s only a small portion? Or should I even bother with testing?

I feel dumb asking this but my dad said since it’s wet it’s fine. Also I’m a young woman, not much money and trying to just do my best so please be kind!
