Replacing rear fender with a tail tidy. I’m thinking of going stealth either mount in front of the rear tire or placing it in the original spot but at an angle. I ride in California, how much grief am I going to grr from LEOs?
After selling the 2010 1098 SFS (street) and the 2003 R6 (track) the search was on for the bike that will do both. Was leaning pretty heavy towards the RS660 Factory, in the interim checked out the zx4rr and the R7. Gixxer 750 won me over with performance, reliability and build quality. Expecting the 2027 to arrive in the next few weeks.
Time to replace my street riding helmet. Experienced rider, on streets it's predominantly riding in the canyons. My track helmet is Suomy and I had positive experiences with Arai, Bell and XLite. I have an opportunity to buy a BNIB Y.100R for $185. From what I read it has received good ratings for street use: great visibility, good comfort, relatively quiet. The only real complaint is it's on the heavy side but what other quality Euro made lids can be had at this price level? For another $200 I can get a NCom 3 Pro which will fit this helmet perfectly. What are the thoughts of those that experienced the Nexx Y.100R? Is it a good product or am I just buying the price?
Bought a donor bike with Dymag CF wheels with intent to switch them to my BMW R1100S. CF wheels for this model Beemer are no longer available, partly for a reason that a set of these wheels can cost as much or more than the bike itself. The donor bike is 2004. It spent at least 3 years in the garage out of sunlight (but not in a climate controlled environment). I'm not sure how old the wheels are, the seller bought the bike as it sits. Though there are no visible signs of damage such as curb rash, cracking, chipping or delamination I still prefer to check the integrity of the wheels. Looking for a recommendation on the facility that can verify integrity of the wheels including x-raying for structural integrity.
