Finally jeans that fit me!

I bought these relaxed flare River Island jeans the other day, I'm so happy with them. I honestly don't think I've ever found a pair of jeans that fit so well, they sit so snuggly above my bum and my lower back. No gape. I hadn't realised how badly jeans fit normally in comparison.

Shown with the disastrous pair from recently. I hadn't realised how wrong they looked before these try ons with pics.

The tshirt isn't ideal but it's what I was wearing on the day because I don't have any SD friendly tops really yet.

I'm wondering too if I'd like the Levis Cinch Flare...has anyone got those? Or the Levis Ribcage Bell ones?

Is this a lost cause...

I feel like it's a no but is there any hope for this shirt?

It's massive and shapeless but currently I've donated most of my tops and it's warm today in the UK so this is the best I've got.

I tried tying it but it's still meh, I tried back tucking to no avail. I can't fully tuck because I'm conscious of my tummy rn.

The colour's decent on me as a spring.

The hunt for SD boots begins

It's time I got some SD coded boots, what do you think to these?

I'm ok with a couple of inches for the heel (comfort, height of 5ft7 and foot health means I don't want higher for everyday at least these days) and I want something comfortable for everyone day wear with maxi skirts, wide leg trousers and jeans.

I'm in the uk of anyone has recommendations.

How do I search items for this aesthetic...

I want to create a new aesthetic, a new wardrobe that feels and looks like this...

I live in Brontë Country in Yorkshire, I'm an artisan jeweller and artist. I love dark and light academia but I'm a spring, likely light spring but a House of Colour bright/paintbox spring. So aubergine and charcoal and black aren't my colours.

I'm a kibbe soft dramatic (tall and curvy, 5'7") and mid sized.

I'm loving wrap tops and high-rise bell flared jeans, slim fit wide leg trousers, long flowy skirts, wrap sweaters, pointy toe boots. But I'm not sure how to fuse these aesthetics together ~ spring, academia, artist, somewhat ethereal and free spirited. I'll be wearing beaded bracelets and necklaces and organic looking jewellery but nothing rustic.

I want aspects of the forest, mer, academia and some glam for soft dramatic.

Is this possible 😆

Why is this wrong...

What's wrong with this top and skirt for me? I'm spring so the colour is wrong but other than that what's happening? It all felt a bit like pyjamas.

Nb. I'm 170cm so just under 5'7"

Is this jacket good for fn...

Because if it is I'm definitely not one of you because it swallows me. That makes me sad but I think it's pretty clear.

Or is it more dramatic?

Nb. I'm 170cm so just under 5'7"

ETA thanks all, I'm finally happy to be my soft dramatic self. All my confusion has cleared.

Still not sure if I'm a dramatic

The thing is I don't know that I've experienced having to accommodate anything but height. When something's too small I think it's kinda small everywhere. Maybe my bust sometimes. Not certain.

I think in these pics I can rule out fn, unstructured jackets make me lose my shape? Or is that jacket more dramatic than fn?

And pic #12, this stretchy outfit felt off on me. Even if the colour had have been right (I'm a spring and this made me look ill) it felt too clingy on me.

I'm 170cm so just under 5'7"

ETA I've settled on soft dramatic, thanks everyone for your help 🙏

Why do kibbe soft dramatics say...

Why do soft dramatics say they look rubbish in athletic wear? I'm likely a sd and I don't feel that way, educate me please. Maybe I look worse than I think 😆

Kibbe type help pls 5'8"

After years of dressing to hide myself and consequently feeling like a potato and kinda invisible I really want to wear what honours me so I'm honing in on determining my kibbe type. I'm between soft dramatic and dramatic. I don't think I'm FN, I lack kibbe width.

Would a dramatic look like this in the wrap dress or does it mean I'm definitely soft dramatic?

Also I'll add other pics.

Constructive comments welcome re kibbe type 🙏

Wardrobe try ons

I tried a couple of dresses on from my wardrobe, I think it's almost postive now that I need waist emphasis albeit I haven't tried on any blatant dramatic outfits really. I'll keep cataloguing shopping try ons as I do them too.

I think the red wrap dress is a good fit, waist and bust emphasis working. The pattern isn't my favourite and it's a bit much in red but I'm a spring so it works in a way. I'd prefer a more light spring friendly version and more length.

The unstructured tent (on me) isn't ideal. Better with waist emphasis or maybe it could be tailored. I love the pattern and colours.

But my question also is would this dress work on a dramatic? Its not a lightweight fabric and theres no flounce.

Thoughts please 🙏

Outfit try ons

I think this wrap dress works for me although I haven't daren't wear it yet because I feel exposed, it clings to my tummy. That's 100% why I've been wearing the wrong (oversized) clothes and feeling invisible or huge.

I've included a dress that doesn't work at all for reference. Can this unstructured piece be tailored to work by any chance? I like the pattern and colours.

Are these any good?

Some vinted bits i like, would they work?

If not can you tell me the effect they'd have please or who'd suit them? I get the body lines but I'm not quite there with what likes suit each tall type.

Outfit try ons...

These were my favourites from a hot and bothered day of trying on...

Loved the Chinese style jacket although I'd wesr different trousers, loved the safari dress it felt solid and I felt confident, loved the yellow top and floral skirt even though the top has a bit of extra fabric around the armpits. All of these got comments from passers by, I felt pretty confident for once.

What do you think...

Outfit try on investigations (5'8")

After posting re my type most people don't see FN for me due to lack of kibbe width. Most people see SD with a couple of Ds both here and on other subs.

So I tried some bits on today...and ended up a bit confused.

The favourites for me and my husband as well as passers by who chimed in were the safari style collared cream dress, the yellow/pink Chinese style top (which was stunning with a gold shimmer the photo doesn't really show) and the green floral skirt with the yellow flowy top.

Constructive comments welcome.

Clothing try-on suggestion help pls (5'8")

Tomorrow I want to go to some shops for some try-on experiments to help figure out D vs SD vs FN. Likely Zara, M&S and maybe Cos.

I'm tall with a balanced frame and don't think I need curve or width accommodation but I want to test properly and get proof because I feel like I'm guessing.

What specific garments or fitting room tests would you suggest to tell the three apart?

Pic to show that a mirror selfie can really skew how we look vs a front facing photo from a distance.

Hourglass question...

I hope this is ok to ask.

Those with any kind of hourglass shape as an FN...

Are you an 8 or an X hourglass?

(Examples at the bottom of this pic, top is me and I'm an X and teetering on FN/SD)

Outfit ponderings...

Please can you give me feedback on these outfits, what works and what doesn't...including shoes.

I know the ugg style boots are terrible, I had a last minute shoe issue and had no choice.

Thanks ☺️

Kibbe type help pls ~ height 5ft8

Help please I'm going between SD, D and perhaps FN although I feel like that's less likely?

ETA I tried shoes on today in tkmaxx and both pointed and almond shaped worked for me. Round definitely not. Also chunky soles weren't ideal either I don't think. Birkenstocks were a no as well.

UK shopping

If you live in the UK where are you loving for SD clothes?

And if you shop on Vinted what would you search for apart from flared jeans and wrap tops/dresses/skirts/jumpers?
