How would you deal with a co-worker who behave like this (never seen anything like it)
I have a co-worker A who's been with the company 6-7 years and 5 years longer than me and another co-worker B. Co-worker B and I joined the company at around the same time as new addition to the group.
Here's the problem and I will describe this with a list of provable facts, not opinions or judgements. My hope is for others to see these as facts and tell me how you would react to these facts
- This person refuses to share anything with respect to what he does, refuse to show others how he's done things in the past, refuse to invite new people to shadow so they can learn from him
- 3 months into this job, this person tells me I should apply to another job in the company
- This person tells me he reads 1 paper a day and knows a lot about a software product when he doesn't even know how to install it on his computer
- 9 months into this job, he would join a meeting at our request with me and co-worker B and first thing he says will be "I am not going to include you in my project". '
- I would be asked by our marketing team to build certain things and this guy would tell me I shouldn't do it even though it had nothing to do with him
- 18 months into this job, I went to this person to ask him if I could have his permission to act as a "marketing and business development guy" to help expand our business impact and he straight up told me he doesn't think we should be doing the things I've been doing for the company and therefore I shouldn't be allowed anywhere near him.
I hope you can see these as real facts because they are truly real facts.
what I want to see in this post is if people can tell me how you would respond to this. I've told this to my manager and he knows but he's not doing much about it.
