Hi all

I still love God & I am hurt by the Orthodox Church for personal reasons.

I am tired of the Orthobros, the legalism, the rigidness of some teachings. Often times the worse people I have met do the fasts religiously, pray the full morning & evening prayers, & are also extremely judgemental & unkind.

I went to a Protestant Church & I feel worse. I have been going for 5 months now. The first 2 months were great though.

I grew up Orthodox, so I did not know what to expect. I find the emphasis on hell so exhausting. People genuinely fear hell and feel like they HAVE to preach the Gospel to everyone or they are responsible for their eternal salvation, which is such an enormous pressure to put on anyone.

Not only that, they genuinely believe that someone who doesn't know Jesus who lives in the Himalayas, but, by their actions show love towards people & God in their best understanding will go to hell because they do not know Jesus. This sounds absolutely bizarre to me.

I am also tired of the Catholic bashing & treating them like they are literal satanists. Maybe it is personal for me, but my family received a lot of help from Catholics when we were struggling decades ago.

Bub was asleep in his cot and he usually sleeps well, but he woke up crying multiple times. He is not teething, he is not ill, & I wasn't sure what is going on so I decided to sleep in the bed next to his cot.

At midnight as we were both asleep, I heard a male American voice, coming from the camera, laughing & calling him a "naughty baby". I woke up & immediately disconnected the camera.

I am so fkn pissed and scared. I feel invaded and so upset.

I am just curious if this is just my experience or is this common?

When I went out with my 2 month old after being house bound for a while, I had a lady in her 40s-50s who got excited & said how precious my bub was all swaddled up in her pram. Then an older boomer came, scoffed & said "just you wait, it will get harder and harder". I wanted to cry, I was already hormonal & going outside was hard enough.

One time I was BF under a cover at a cafe & a boomer lady did a disgusted face & talked loudly to her husband about how I should be doing it at home & that "there are bottles for a reason". It pissed me off & again, I am sleep deprived & hormonal & this is the last thing I needed. I was with a friend who was just as upset for me & wanted to tell her off, but I told her no.

Another one was this boomer who told me about how my life would be ruined, how she never wanted children & that babies are all gross...and then proceeded to talk about how her only child doesn't want to talk to her anymore.
