Almost got arrested for weed possession in... Yala

Hello here,

I have been traveling in thailand for a few months every year ( low season months ) since 2023 and I spend most of my time in the deep south because I don't like to be surrounded by farang ( I know I am farang as well ). I know the danger about those provinces and heard my first ever bomb explosion 2 weeks ago 3km far from my hotel in a PTT at 11pm evening. Hopfully there was no injuries or dead.

I have been through hundreds of checkpoint since my first time in the deep south and never had any problem except 1 or 2 times just asking me to show them what is under my seat and they let me go even after seeing my weed in a plastic bag.

But today was different story, while entering the town where I am since few weeks through a military checkpoint, i got asked to stop and show what is under my seat. They found my weed and told me now the law have changed ( I think nothing was put on the royal gazette yet ? Same story as the 30 days visa instead of 60 still not having published ? ) and now weed is illegal without a prescription and for medical use. 4 officers surrounded me and my thai friend, took picture of us and my friend negotiated to not bring me to jail because I wasn't aware of the law changement and because it's easy to buy weed where I am ( yes , still have weed shop in deep south ( not just at the malaysian border with overprice weed same as Patong or Pattaya ) and surprisingly I have never see that much local people coming to the shop and buy weed ).

So they took picture of us ( hello facebook ) and accepted to let us go away without taking my weed.

Chocked by what happened, I rushed to the weed shop in my town to explain the situation and now I have a legal prescription for weed valable 1 month with the possibility to have 30g maximum with me.

But I want to know.... WHAT IS THE OFFICAL TRUE LAW about it now, today, 22 july 2026 ?

Have a lovely day wherever you are in this world

( the prescription cost 200 baht and is to renew every month )

I just "almost " got arrested for weed possession through a military check point

Should I stop use cannabis before filling 2 cavities ( big ones )

Hello, I am 30yo (m) and very anxious in general and even more about dentist.

I only had 1 cavity done when I was very young and I still remember it was painful and traumatized me.

Now I have 2 cavities ( quite big ) that need to be fixed but the dentist told me I should stop cannabis few days before doing that if not the anesthesia won't be effective even if they give me a lot. Since that I got scared and didn't fix my teeth yet and my family is worried for me to fix it.

I am now in Thailand alone, and I think I should really do it but I am afraid of the needle and the pain and the anesthesia not being effective.

I have the appoitment the 16 may and I started stop use cannabis today and I already feel it's difficult ( autistic guy with weed addiction and smoking around 7/8g every days ( in thailand , in my country it's more expensive I can't afford smoke that quantity everyday ) )

I know I am in thailand and have plenty of things to do but I am in a not so much touristic town ( Hatyai ) and I don't like alcohol that much and smoking weed takes about 70% of my day, when I am not driving my rental bike or eating somewhere. I feel empty without goal and I know I won't be able to sleep and eat until I smoke again after my dentist appoitment.

I went to a hospital ( here in hatyai ) to explain my case and they prescribed me a sleeping pill and xanax and a pill to take 1 hour before I go dentist.

What should I do ? Should I just continue to smoke weed as usual and try to not faint because of the pain while they get my teeth fixed ?

I am lost and I don't even how to explain the problem in a way that everybody would understand.

Thanks for your advices

( I tried to buy CBD oil but the doctor I saw today told me it's the same problem about reducing the effect of anesthesia as THC... )
