Chaplains in the command structure

I was reading the lore book from the Armageddon box and it lists Strike force Rapheon as one of the blood angels formations on Armageddon; Rapheon being the jump chaplain.

I was wondering if chaplains can be given command of field formations and if so up to what level?

How can I bling him up?

Just finished painting the ancient (minus the base) from the Armageddon box last night and I’m actually liking the look of the helmet a lot more than I thought I would and the golden on the helmet of crux terminatus is also really growing on me!

From what I understand, ancients are veterans so I wanted to bling him up a bit. I have some upgrade sprues laying about and generic SM transfer sheet so any ideas on how to bling him up more?

Armageddon Chaplain almost done

Probably my favourite model from the box, just ahead of the captain. Love the pose and details on him, might add some more details but I decided to add some text transfers from the generic SM infantry transfer sheet, looks pretty decent I think. Would love to hear what everyone thinks! :)

How would the minotaurs fare if they attacked Baal?

Saw a post on the raven guard subreddit on how the minotaurs would fare if they attacked deliverance, so got me thinking how they’d do if they attacked deliverance Baal for whatever reason, what do you guys think? I think we’d be just fine

Librarian WIP

Painting my Armageddon librarian, struggling with the colouring of the engraving on his leg where the red is. I’d like it to be more vibrant but idk it gets all over the leg, this is the best I could do. Advice and feedback welcome!! :)

Test scheme lore question

Decided to paint the mini of the month I picked up a while back to see if I enjoy painting guard and it was quite nice tbh

My question is, would a cadian regiment have this colour scheme for their uniforms/armour? Possibly if they’re specialised in alpine/glacial warfare?

(Repost) librarian + SP with AIs

Reposting cause I misunderstood stuff and deleted preemptively but wanted everyone’s thoughts on a librarian + SP + 10 AIs to hold the midboard and just soak up damage with the 4+ invul and 5+ FNP? Could be more useful than simply using them as a bodyguard for the captain

Intercessors beyond the home objective

Hey everyone! I’ve been playing 40K for a couple of months now and I was wondering if people use their intercessors in a role that goes beyond just using them to hold/sticky home objectives?

I know they’re not the best but I do like the models and the idea of the regular line infantry doing something on the board seems fun. I’m not super competitive and usually run thematic lists anyways so it doesn’t have to be absolutely crazy but I’d be curious to hear if/how people use their intercessors beyond their home objective and how big the squad sizes are etc. Thanks a lot! :)

Beat Abaddon, chained the thirst

Just had a 2K point game against a Veterans of the long War list and managed to win quite handily! I managed to chain my red thirst and not charge in everywhere. Got onto all objectives in no man’s land turn 1 and held then basically all game with some good secondaries.

Main thing was the insane narrative experience thought. His vindicator was wrecking my AI brick but got absolutely ruined when Astorath jumped in and destroyed it with his DC. Lemartes got epic challenged by a Chaos Lord but held his own and won the objective eventually forcing his lord to fall back but the best of the bunch was my Chaplain Malachai leading 5 DC marines on foot who faced down and killed a Demon Prince with wings while being on 1 wound himself.

Feels amazing beating a CSM army, it really hits different to say beating xenos, especially one led by Abaddon good to show Horus’s lapdog his place without having succumbed to the thirst haha

Which enemies (except tyranids) have the Blood Angels faced regularly in Nihilus?

Hey everyone! Basically what the title say! I like to write narrative stories for my blood angels army and characters as I continue to build it up and was wondering what kinds of enemies the blood angels face in Nihilus post devastation of Baal/introduction of the primaris marines?

Any answers are good but I plan on setting the first campaign/battle in a backwater alpine world so if there’s any enemies that suit that environment that’d be great!

I was gonna do Tau before I realised how far they are from Nihilus lol and I’m not sure if I can give a lore justification for them being there. Thanks for in advance! :)

Finally got some heavy firepower (WIP)

But the bullet and got a lancer instead of saving for the launch box cause I have enough infantry. No longer will I have to watch my opponents deploy tanks or monsters and worry about how to get rid of them.

Detachment tricks and tips for LAG

Hey everyone! Basically what the title says, I was wondering if yall have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of LAG? I’m still relatively new but have found that other armies often seem to have a ton more stuff to their detachments and while I get that LAG is meant to reward charging, I was wondering if people had any ways to get the most out of the list as I wanna move beyond the “I just want to charge” aspect of it. Specific units, stratagems, combinations etc

Re-did/touched up smash captain (before pic at the end)

Might do some edge highlights but it’s finally a model I’m excited to use on the tabletop :)

Captain with Death Mask (Lore)

I’m currently rebuilding my smash captain to give him a death mask from the SG kit. I was wondering if there’s a more justification for this or a death mask-esque headgear? I’m probably not correct but aren’t death masks reserved for the SG/Chapter master?

Have officially painted all my models (basing left)

Don’t have any unpainted models left now, pretty happy with how they all turned out :)

u/treacherouslymeant — 2 months ago

Used spray primer for the first time and it is LIFE CHANGING. The pose looks like he’s asking for a hug but i was going more for a pointing at an enemy vibe building him was a nightmare icl

Pretty happy overall though, would you say it’s tabletop worthy?
