Finally got the Finger Food badge

Sorry if no one else cares, but I had to share this somewhere. I did the first typing challenge relatively easily, but #2 was so much more difficult. I've been trying to get that off and on for years. Officially my play count was 34 tries, but in reality it was at least 3x more, including all the times I just quit because I had messed up. I reached 45 words a few times, but finally got #46 today. There are some badges that I'll just never get. But out of the ones that I felt were achievable, this one was my nemesis. I'm more relieved than happy about finally getting it.

I hate showdowns

I have a whole bunch of showdown badges that are basically untouched so I started playing a few and remembered why I hate them so much. I can manage to get decent scores on quizzes, but I'm a very slow player, so showdowns are really stressful. And all the showdown badges are ones where you have to win 100 games, not just play them, so it's just never gonna happen for me.

Season 42 had the fewest ever unrevealed clues (i.e. uncleared boards)

Number of unrevealed clues in bold:

  • Season 42: 11
  • Season 41: 40
  • Season 40*: 25
  • Season 39: 43
  • Season 38: 83
  • Season 37**: 211
  • Season 36: 379
  • Season 35: 282
  • Season 34: 398
  • Season 33: 388
  • Season 32: 555

* Season 40 had well under half the usual number of regular games due to the large number of tournaments as a result of the writers' strike (typically all clues are played in tournaments)

** Season 37 - Alex hosted about two-thirds of the games before stepping down

Credit to u/mfc248 for providing all the data for past seasons in this post.

Having only 11 unrevealed clues out of well over 10,000 clues played is pretty astounding. I'm sure the producers are already aware of this, but if they want to trim this number down even more, look no further than the lengthy sponsored "promotional" categories (edit-the guest video categories are not necessarily always promoting something). 8 of the 11 unrevealed clues happened in games where one of these categories was featured.

RCS issues

I started using Google Messages about a month ago when they retired the legacy Samsung app. RCS worked fine at first, once I turned on "Automatically resend as SMS/MMS"

But starting a week or two ago, I started having some issues. I'm in a group chat with two iPhone users, and everything was working fine for a while - messages were going through as a mix of RCS and SMS. But all of a sudden I completely stopped being able to send or receive any messages at all - not RCS or SMS. The other 2 people are seeing each other's messages with no issues. I tried all the suggestions in this sub and elsewhere, but no luck. Also a more minor issue is with a family member who lives in the same home as me. This person is also an iPhone user, and their messages to me get through, but are sometimes delayed by hours.

Anyone else having similar issues and been able to resolve it? I'm on Verizon in the US and have not changed my phone in a while. I am using an older Samsung but it has the latest version of Google Messages installed.

Fox won't stream while traveling (World Cup)

I have an Xfinity set top box subscription, and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am currently traveling in Los Angeles, and I cannot stream any of the World Cup games on either xfinity.com or the app. This is the error message I'm getting:

"We've got a location issue. Unfortunately, we can't play this video within this market"

Is there a fix for this?
