Grimy urology clinic

This PhD student I was fucking out of pity dragged me to the doctor. Turns out he has all possible third world diseases and these fuckers had the audacity to call my educated concerns and questions 'ChatGPT anxiety'. God forbid a woman reads and is articulate.

Mental health crisis in Bangalore.

Bangalore as a city is going through a mental health crisis. In many parts of the city, I have come across young persons who are living in underemployment, pretending to work in cafes but actually just using Claude to answer basic questions, wearing clothes that have visible holes in them, kind of smelling bad, which to me (as a survivor of a depressive episode) points to depression. Young men gathering around a paan shop and just smoking for many hours. People are overwhelmingly not happy. Migrants from other cities, especially, have a vacant expression on their faces, no emoting and no real enthusiasm for life. So many people I know are on psychiatric medication- SSRIs, antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, ADHD medication. It has become so common to drink and smoke, it is mind boggling to me that people are hurting their bodies without regard for consequences. I don't know about the official statistics for suicides but almost every week I hear of some young person self-harming in some way. If the system is not working for so many people, shouldn't there be some kind of reckoning? The city's architecture does not sustain joy. Instead, it feels spiritually vacuous, and none of the beautiful life affirming pursuits- nature, art, music, literature, seem to have a strong enough presence in the life of young people. The traffic on the roads is so soul sucking, we are wasting away our youth and health stuck going from one place to another. So many young men in specific are just aimlessly roaming around, and they're always staring into their phones. All classes, but especially the have-nots are constantly on their phones, scrolling reels till kingdom come. Why is the government not addressing this mental health crisis?

Recommendations for pickles (and other food items)

Hi everyone,

I want to buy prawn, seafood, and meat (mutton, pork, buff) pickle. I want something that is pickled in good quality oil with minimum masala, but still retains that general coastal Karnataka taste, though I am open to other South Indian flavours as well. I am looking for something not mass produced but made in small batches, and preferably available to taste before I purchase it.

I live in North Bangalore (near Sadashivnagar). I have already checked out the Gram Rajyas and Thoms Bakery type places near my house. They sell mass produced pickles. Most places don't even have non-vegetarian pickles, that's why I am in a pickle.

Let me know of any recommendations (niche websites or online stores welcome too) that strike your mind. Many thanks in advance!

The state of my extended family is pitiful.

I come from a community that in my country is systematically super oppressed, I'm talking nation-level discrimination for work, space, lifestyle, everything. People of my community are basically used as human killbots to do menial work, scraping the streets for shit level menial.

I always knew this in the background, which is why I studied super hard, got a good enough job and now live a decent enough life. But my family keeps trying to pull me back and man I'm so fucking exhausted.

My impotent parents let my extended family walk all over them, and these leeches take all they can from us. They sell land to arrange marriages (not for education) and after popping two or three (sometimes four or five) kids in abject poverty, they come begging my parents (who are slightly well off) for help, and by begging I mean begging, the full theatrics.

Currently my aunt (mom's sister) who had a baby with the most disgusting vile man ever is staying with my parents and she's posting from my childhood bedroom on her youtube channel, trying to get 'famous' so she can pay her bills cause her abusive husband is a deadbeat and a wife and child beater.

I cringe so hard looking at her just acting like my lifestyle is her or her son's lifestyle, and the worst thing is my mom is helping her shoot those videos, and the ways in which they're posting (third world scenes, blurry camera, #plzhelp kind of hashtags) just kinda break my heart.

Like the chances of her escaping poverty by posting shorts on YouTube are zero, but I hate that she's using the art and carefully curated furnishings I PAID for in my house and room to appear idk richer. I hate that she's there at all, and I hate that I have no safety net to fall back upon should I want to take a single year off to rest.

The worst thing of all is that I am 30 and I don't think I earn enough to have kids, and this dumb bitch of an aunt just pooped out a baby without thinking about the consequences and is now forcing my parents to help her out, when I know I cannot depend on my parents for jackshit except a meagre inheritance (that will be divided among my sisters and me) that will come years later, when I will have no real use for it.

I don't care if I sound like a bitter bitch.
