Comfort kills in this game

In Interloper, I seem to die when I’ve got enough food, wood, etc and I get too comfortable. I let my guard down and then bam, dead. It’s as if my comfort gives me a false sense of security. I struggle with discipline when I am feeling rich. This is my cross to bear. How do others stay humble and not get overconfident.

Are we past “peak Meat” and moving toward continual price increases until it is a luxury item?

Meat used to be a staple everyone could afford however inflation has hit meat pretty hard. I seem to think this is transitory however I wonder if this is the new norm and things like prime steaks and brisket will be luxury items like Waygu is now for most people. Droughts, overfarming, and enviromental changes are making grain stupidly expensive leading to skyrocketing prices. Will we look back at this time as the good old days for beef prices?
