Houston Geophysical Society instrumentation museum
gshtx.orgBacked on kickstarter (Core Set). Can access 10.5 rules and monster beta on DriveThruRPG. Can't access Monster Collection.
Can confirm it's the same email on kickstarter and my drivethrurpg account.
I got the rules book (and monster beta 0.2) added to my library by clicking a link with a discount code. However, I suspect the rest of the digital content was supposed to be added too. I was under the assumption that the Core backers got access to all the digital content, but the Monster Collection still shows a price for me.
Who do I talk to to get it fixed?
I suspect my email address wasn't properly linked from kickstarter to drivethrurpg.
Lithogen Geonics EM31mk2 Tutorial Video (1 hr)
youtube.comLooking for historical geophysical instruments for museum, specifically fdem
Examples: Sharpe SE300 (specifically in the Crone shoot back config) or a Scintrex SE-600; an original APEX Parametrics MaxMin; a Geonics EM15, EM17 or EM17L; a MxPhar VHEM; ABEM Minigun, Demigun, or EMgun; equivalents from other manufacturers from the 60s and 70s. Any Geonics fdem instruments predating the mk2 units (which we have).
Our company (Inductyne) is building some new fdem instrumentation from first principles. But I've also been building a historical library and museum as tribute to those that came before. Standing on the shoulders of giant, and such.
Currently on display: MaxMin II (pristine); Geonics EM16 (ugly), EM38 (the wood one), and a Scintrex coil of unknown provenance which we suspect is from an SE-600 but aren't really sure.
Willing to pay for shipping and barter beers at conferences.
Shower thought: if satellites can use 1% of the solar energy that would otherwise hit earth...
Could actually solve global warming...
Radiators would have to radiate the infrared away from Earth, which won't be 100% true. But mostly true.
Now someone needs to do the calculation regarding amount of greenhouse gas added to the atmosphere while launching enough satellites to reach that 1% mark. And figure out if that is worse ;)

youtube.comHaven't seen any discussion about this yet. Anyone who has finished book #2 and has read How if Unfolds wish to chime in?
The main thing "How if Unfolds" allows here is pockets of humanity spread through the cosmos, with colonies started at different times. It provides a plausible origin for how the humans got to Anjiin without having to go into the "trap colony" theory. It also potentially allows Livesuit to be really referring to Earth.
For those not aware, a short story by the same authors was published in 2023 called "How it Unfolds", in a short story anthology called "The Far Reaches Collection". It was published before The Mercy of Gods, but appears to lay the foundation for why there's a colony on Anjiin, why there's multiple ecosystems there, and a potential explanation as to why one island got "nuked" (reactor failure in the original colony).
Tag spoilers.
If I have it correct, then the timeline would require: >! How it Unfolds (original seed colony from earth sent); then Livesuit (they don't have FTL there do they? and they mention Earth); then the colony get to Anjiin; (then ~4000 years); then the Captives War novels; then How it Unfolds again in the distant future (post war quiet galaxy?) !< I don't think this novel created new canon conflicts to this interpretation.
Anyone else catch this description used repeatedly throughout the book? I think I started noticing it on the third or fourth occurence.
It's no "copper taste of fear" but it's close haha.
