Topps Fire is my favorite set from 2018, seeing them all together on one page is so cool

Tl;dr Ohtani auto for cheap

This popped up on eBay for $1120 last week. I know that’s a lot for a piece of cardboard but compared to other Topps Certified Ohtani autos I’m feeling pretty good.

Last week while doing my usual search of newly listed 2018 Ohtani I saw this pop up. Now I’ve seen plenty of zero feedback, too good to be true listings but this one stood out. PSA cert checks out, pictures of front and back, but no other listings from the seller

After refreshing the page a few times and expecting it to be sold/taken down I bought it within 5-10 minutes of it being posted.

Of course I was expecting the seller to cancel, pricing error, to close the account, ghost me etc. But shortly after payment cleared I got a message saying thank you so much and it’d be in the mail tomorrow

Yea yea I’ll believe it when I see it. Sure enough, tracking number posted. Ok but they gotta drop it off at the post office. Next day Done. At this point I’m getting a little excited but I know It’s still gotta clear PSA authentication — I thought he’d send them a brick. But shockingly it passed. I was expecting the package to get stopped or lost in the mail and everything in between.

But it delivered. A striking bold on card auto, no name variation. I feel very lucky to have found this, felt like I had missed the boat on an Ohtani auto

These don’t come up too often… 2018 Throwback Thursday #250 based on the 1956 Topps design. Print run of 842

Anyone who’s seen my posts on here knows I’m excited about this pickup

Best part is Probstein mislabeled the listing. First they misspelled Ohtani as Ohtan and numbered it as H250 instead of 250 which probably gathered significantly less attention than it should have. Got it at a good price compared to other recent sales

They sound better than they look. They’re also twice as heavy. Original pickups, I believe only the tuners have been swapped out and I put on locking strap locks. It was refretted but it was played into the ground before me, and I see why

I was mistaken that my last post was actually a factory defect rather than an error

2018 as we all know is Ohtanis America rookie year. They let one slip in 2019

Topps eventually fixed this, keeping the action photo but changing the portrait image in the third pic (not my card)

Not a lot of copies exist, one estimated print run is 2163 with under 400 graded by PSA. I think a lot of kids got these for Xmas and forgot about them

Love the wood red and green frame. Feels like a classy Christmas set without the tacky snowflakes of the Holiday set

Think I got the same shipper as the Ohtani guy. Halfway out the penny sleeve haha They truly couldn’t care less, they already got their money

First of all praise be. Here’s my collection of ungraded Ohtani cards. I pull this thing open at least once a day to look thru it. Cards with doubles are flipped so I can read the back

About a 50/50 mix between pulled cards and purchased / traded for. My personal non-rookie favorites are the 2 color patch relic and the factory crimp error with the jagged texture. Something only we could appreciate haha
