I would like to test something (Warning: Long post ahead, condensed version in the comments for those who don’t want to read all that)
I’ve been a Long Hauler since 2021 ever since I took the vax, my long haul “phenotype” is neurological/psychological and dysautomia in nature. Some of my symptoms include depression/mood swings (particularly during certain points of my menstrual cycle so most likely PMDD-related), anhedonia, intrusive thoughts, blood pressure fluctuations, hyponatremia (though I also take 300mg of Zoloft daily which can also up hyponatremia risk, however I’ve been taking this dosage long before Covid and never had a problem yet, I’ve heard accounts of Covid changing the way one responds to medication), and migraines/seizures.
Here’s the thing, I’ve noticed my symptoms tend to always get worse around the time when my antibodies start declining but then get better as soon as my antibodies go back up, either after vaccination or Covid infection itself.
I’ve officially been diagnosed with Covid twice now, both times I immediately felt better mood-wise and like I was back to normal upon onset of infection, and both times I also experienced/am experiencing an immediate decline in mood once the 6th or 7th month mark has passed (so almost perfectly coinciding with natural antibody decline).
I strongly suspect my Long Covid is the dormant Covid type, but here’s the thing, if that’s the case why was it the vax to trigger some of my long-haul symptoms? For reference’s sake I know it was the vax because exactly two weeks after having my first Pfizer dose I experienced my first bout of depression ever, I previously had no history of depression. (I take Zoloft for extreme anxiety and OCD) After that I never had any episodes of depression again and thought it was just a one-off till almost exactly a year later right when my antibodies would start to decline.
I have a theory, I think I had asymptomatic Covid all along since the Winter of 2019 and my first dose of the vax brought it out and made it symptomatic. I strongly suspect innoculating yourself full of spike proteins attracts the virus dormant within you and it comes out to the surface because the spike proteins are attracted to more spike proteins like magnets or something.
December 2019, my dad comes home with a fever and a cough, the cough lingers all the way till at least March of 2020. (Funnily enough my latest Covid infection which I caught during late September of 2025 had my cough lasting till December, my first official round of Covid which I caught during December of 2023 had my cough also lingering about a month but it was probably cut shorter since I took Paxlovid during that round). At the time we didn’t think it was Covid because my dad tested negative for the antibody tests that came out during April of 2020.
Then I recently learned that antibodies from natural infection can fade fast, even before the 6-month mark, and some people don’t even make antibodies to a natural infection.
That’s all that convinced me that my dad for sure had Covid during that December of 2019, and I probably had an “asymptomatic” infection that the vaccines eventually brought out.
I say “asymptomatic” because come to think of it I did have a few strange symptoms from the time my dad first contracted Covid in December of 2019, all the way up to my very first vaccination in April of 2021.
I remember like a week after my dad got sick with that fever and cough I fainted for like 10 seconds after getting up quickly from a bowel movement, at first I thought nothing of it because I had two fainting incidents in the past pre-Covid era also involving getting up too quickly from the toilet so I chalked it up to a Vasovagal Syncope, but now I wonder…
My mom got scared though and called our PCP to check me out, everything checked out fine except I had a bit low blood pressure. Now that was weird considering I’ve always had perfectly normal blood pressure, this was literally the first time I ever had a hint of abnormal blood pressure, but of course my PCP didn’t suspect anything and said I was probably just dehydrated and to drink more water (I was drinking 8 full glass 16oz cups a day due to kidney stones…),
Another weird symptom that I developed since my dad (likely) contracted Covid during the Winter of 2019 is that now I get intermittent ear popping, from what I looked up this can either indicate inner ear/vestibular issues (Negative since I got the insides of my ears checked out last year with a special machine and they didn’t find anything), or blood pressure issues; can also be a sign of low sodium/hyponatremia (which I did get hospitalized for all the way back in the Summer of 2024 almost exactly 6 months when the antibodies from my first officially diagnosed Covid infection would’ve started declining).
Another symptom I experienced during the whole of 2020 that I’m not sure is worth mentioning but just in case is that I got strangely obsessive and hyper-focused on my special interest more than usual (I have autism), it felt like I was constantly running on dopamine hits, and since I now know Covid affects and disregulates the dopamine system I have to wonder… (I have also experienced bouts of europhoria and strange levels of excitability, once during the Spring of 2022 almost exactly a year when my antibodies from my first vaccination series would’ve waned, right before the depression and anhedonia started in, and then more recently this past Winter when I was just starting to recover from my latest Covid infection).
Anyways besides these 3 symptoms I was otherwise asymptomatic and all my negative, debilitating symptoms (particularly depression and anhedonia) started with the Covid Vax. And before you say anything, no it’s not from the MRNA, how do I know this?
Because I’ve had the exact same two strange symptoms every time I take a Covid shot, whether MRNA or Novavax. (In total I’ve had 4 Covid shots, the first initial Pfizer series in the Spring of 2021 when they were first released and then two Novavax boosters, one in January of 2023 and the other in December of 2024).
Those symptoms being a strong, musty indole like smell (lasting around 1 or 2 weeks if I take mRNA, only 24 hours for Novavax), as well as complete genital/clitoral numbness. (This typically only lasts for about a month).
It never fails, I always get these side-effects whenever I take a Covid booster, even with the traditional Novavax. Clearly the common denominator here isn’t the MRNA but rather the Spike Proteins. (Though I did have one side-effect that seemed to be exclusive to the MRNA series, that being I lost my period for a year).
But then I realized something… I also had this strange smell when I had my first official symptomatic Covid infection back in Winter 2023 (literally a day before coming down with a fever and then cough), then during my most recently acquired Covid infection this past Fall I also experienced genital numbness (I didn’t get the smell this time around, but I’m chalking that up to having been more recently boosted with a booster specifically targeting the latest variant compared to my first rodeo during 2023, so maybe I still had enough antibodies around to fight off some of the symptoms).
Again the genital numbness lasted around a month, as long as it would take for antibodies from an infection to fully come in.
And then I remembered another thing, smell disregulation whether it’s loss of smell or smelling strange scents that aren’t there are a common Covid symptom in general, I was experiencing actual Covid infection symptoms every 24 hours upon getting Covid vaccinated, holy shit!!!
Between my dad’s likely Covid infection during the Winter of 2019, my “Long Vax,” the fact that I immediately feel better/back to normal when my Covid antibodies are high but shitty when they’re low, the fact that I have common Covid symptoms as a side-effect whenever I get boosted (no matter the type of booster), put it all together and the evidence clearly points to me having a latent Covid infection that I never fully cleared, and while I was at first asymptomatic, the magnetic attraction from the spike proteins brings it to the surface and temporarily activates/heightens it (until the antibodies do their thing suppressing it and it goes back to lying in dormancy). I think this has been the cause of my Long Vax/Long Covid all along.
(Another thing worth mentioning that backs up my theory is that my getting vaxed wasn’t actually the first time I experienced that strange smell, I actually started smelling it for a time when my mom first got vaxed before me in February of 2021. At first I thought I had contracted Covid but I tested negative, and the smell pretty much started upon eating the cutlets my mom cooked that she made the very day she got vaccinated. Considering I’ve heard stories of vax shedding and people being able to smell the vaxxed, I suspect what’s happening is the magnetic attraction from the spike protein drawing out latent/dormant Covid infections people already have, thus triggering Covid symptoms such as smell dysregulation.
Another symptom I had is that exactly 2 weeks after this first smell event my right leg went completely numb and I couldn’t walk on it for like a minute, I legit thought I was having a stroke! I eventually regained feeling in that leg after a couple of minutes so me and my mom both chalked it up to “just sitting a certain way for a long period of time.” But let me tell you, I’ve felt my leg falling asleep before and it was definitely not that, the timing also seems suspicious to me…)
I would like to test it though, I’m due for another booster so I had an idea: I would like to be prescribed Paxlovid the day I take my Covid booster, I would take my first dose right before getting my shot and then if I end up having none of my usual Covid Vax side-effects then that would be full-blown proof that my Long Covid is being caused by a latent Covid infection (that the vaccine activates/triggers/aggrevates and brings to the surface), if I still have the side-effects even while on Paxlovid then I’ll know it’s the Spike Protein itself causing my Vax side-effects and it’s still up in the air whether my Long Covid is being caused by a dormant infection or the Spike Protein itself being toxic, either way I’ll be better informed on what’s causing my Long Hauling and be able to seek the appropriate treatment.
There’s one caveat though, would Paxlovid even work for an experiment like this? They say you should only take Paxlovid during the first 5 days of a new infection and after that it’s useless, is that just because your antibodies are coming in and would be taking over Paxlovid’s job or because Paxlovid itself fails at stopping viral replication if the virus isn’t brand new and is now firmly entrenched in your body? If it’s the former and Paxlovid stops Covid from replicating no matter how long it’s been in your body and the 5-day requirement is purely to account for your own antibodies coming in then it would be perfect to use for my little test, however if the “first 5 days requirement” is because of the latter then it would be useless for me to even try.
Does anyone know the answer to this? If Paxlovid is always stopping active viral replication and the 5-day requirement is only because of your own antibodies coming in?
Any CVSes or other pharmacies in Los Angeles that still have Novavax in stock?
All 3 of the ones near me have their computer systems say they’re in stock but they already sent all their batches back. Also I’m assuming the May 31st expiration date means it’s still okay to take the vaccine on that exact day correct? Like as long as it’s still May 31st before midnight it should be okay right?
