Was NOT expecting to see any DCC merch at the Tremont Cryptids and Curiosities fest. Well maybe a lajabless or two. But i had to get it anyway.
Tldr; cannabis use is preventing me from getting meds. Anyone have advice or can confirm some ohio based psychiatrists that don't care about that?
I recently got my adhd diagnosis. Overjoyed; i have been struggling for so long. Got a therapist to do it, and am so glad to finally be validated in how I have been feeling
I had my first psychiatrist appointment, and i told her about my diagnosis, and she immediately said we would have to do a drug and alcohol screen. As the session progressed, she asked if i smoked weed and i said yes, racing thoughts ifykyk
She said i would have to stop completely in order to get stimulants. She said she has to log it and it wont let her prescribe stimulants without a drug test. I know from friends and reddit that this is not really the case, that they have doctors who will prescribe it.
I am hoping to go back to my pcp once my diagnosis papers are official, and i have some hope for that.
But does anyone else have any reccomendations for psych that wouldnt give me a hard time about it? (Ohio based)
Edit: if you're here to tell me just to quit, please take that energy and go do something actually positive for your community, like picking up some garbage or something :)
