[Gen 6] Shiny Spinda Secured! Looks like she has a flower on her head 🌸

Doing my Bank closure list, found via DexNav on ORAS. The spot pattern makes it look like a bow or flower on her head - it’s so cute! Has hidden ability Contrary as well. Captured like 30 non-shiny Spinda just in case lol.

Time for A-Rattata on USUM! Good luck to everyone with their hunts and goals for end of Bank service.

Am I Missing Anything About Switch 1 vs Switch 2 Physical Versions (Non-Key Card)?

I know there’s tons of content out there and posts elsewhere trying to explain all the things about Switch vs Switch 2 physical games, key cards, all that. But searching online I feel like I’m getting conflicting information, so hoping I can get clarity here.

If I already have the Switch 1 version of a game, and want the Switch 2 version, which is non-Key Card (true physical with game and Switch 2 upgrade on the cart): is there any non-monetary difference between downloading the S2 upgrade vs re-purchasing the full game as S2 edition/version?

I’m specifically interested in the physical releases of the Xenoblade series (Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 edition physical releases today). None of the S2 physical release for these are game key card. I have physical S1 version for them all. If I download the S2 update for these S1 cart, does that allow me to put that cart in a separate Switch 2 and play like the S2 version? Or would the cart be restricted to the S1 edition for some reason? If I purchase the Switch 2 edition of physical release, then can I play the cart in S1 just as the S1 edition, or the S2 version cart itself can only be played in S2?

Thank you for any clarification!

[Gen 6] Back-to-Back XY Horde Shinies!

Literally the second horde encounter while EV training and a pink cones appears! And she’s Timid nature! Just in time for National Ice Cream Day in US.

Then, only about 130 encounters later while EV training the same Pokemon, a shiny snek appears! Not-as-great Quiet nature, but Seviper is low-key one of my favorite shinies. I really like how the magenta and almost electric green compliment each other.

I’ve over 350 hours in Y, although this particular file doesn’t have the shiny charm. I just thought it was incredible seeing two shines so close apart before I could even fully EV train the same Pokemon.

What were your closest shiny encounters?

FINALLY Shiny Eon Ticket Latias!

Whew! Got it last night. So glad to have my shiny Latias with location met Southern Island. I don’t track my SRs, but my 2DS activity log says it took me ~17 hours, so estimated just under 3k runaways. The LAST shiny hunt I wanted to secure in the 3DS-era before Bank ever shuts down.

Almost wasn’t gonna hunt last night instead to DexNav hunt on my Alpha Sapphire. Figured I could do both with this in the background. Middle of the night scared my dog sleeping next to me from my excitement.

Didn’t get the Synchronize for Timid nature, but Bold is also very solid. She also has 4 perfect IVs: HP, Def, SpDef, and Speed, so she’s a tank! Very happy about that.

Gonna start the Ribbon Master process with her. What should I do for EV training? Thinking HP and Speed? Maybe Calm Mind setup sweeper for Battle Maison and Battle Tree?
