The Tour is AMAZING
I just saw the touring group last night in Columbus and was blown away by this cast!
I saw Hadestown on Broadway in January with Jack Wolfe as Orpheus, Morgan Dudley as Eurydice, Kurt Elling as Hermes, Allison Russell as Persephone, and Paulo Szot as Hades. This touring cast was every bit as amazing as the cast I saw on Broadway. I’ve been to so many Broadway shows in Columbus and I’ve never seen an audience as electric and loud as last nights audience. I was on the edge of my seat the entire show and was regretting not going to see the show every night that it played this past weekend.
Nickolaus Colón played Hades - he stole the show for me. I want to see him again and again. That deep soulful voice is pure perfection.
Hawa Kamara played Eurydice - they really tapped into the emotions and brought me to tears many times. Such a perfect role for them!
Bryan Chan was our Orpheus and this was the best surprise. His voice sounded so much like Reeve Carney’s in the OBC soundtrack. He sang the songs the way they are in my brain from my AirPods playing the soundtrack on continuous loop. I hope we get to see a lot more of Bryan.
Rudy Foster was our Hermes- OMG what a punkin. My cheeks still hurt from smiling. He was having a blast on stage we all knew it.
Namisa Mdlalose Bizana played Persephone. She had incredible chemistry with our Hades. She owned this role and the stage. I loved her energy and sweet voice!
And the Fates - holy moly - these ladies may be the best Fates ever. Their harmonies were insane. I was with my aunt and uncle who had never seen Hadestown and the Fates are what they talked about the entire way home in the car.
As I’m writing this, I am looking to see when I can catch them on tour again in another city close to home. I’ve never wanted to rush the stage and hug a Broadway cast so much in my entire life. What a gift last night was.
