So, I've been diagnosed with idiopathic GP for nearly 2 years, but this is a newish symptom for me; during my most recent couple of flares, I've been getting intense pelvic pain, and sometimes groin pain when trying to use the bathroom.
I'm trying hard not to strain (which is kind of tough for me, because before GP I rarely got constipated - diarrhea and I are old friends, but constipation is my damn enemy) and not being able to go freaks me out. But sometimes even just urinating during a flare feels weird.
When I'm not flaring or not constipated, it's all fine in terms of groin/pelvic pain!!
Does anyone else experience this?
Hello!
My dad is on a low sodium diet due to CKD, but he needs to keep his protein up as he works on gaining muscle :)
Peanut butter is a good choice due to the calorie v potassium density, and the amount of protein it provides. Plus, he just loves it!
He can do regular peanut butter (in more moderation), but I know he worries a lot about his sodium intake and has been working hard to cook at home more.
We've bought Jif my whole life (until I moved out and started trying out other brands) - but does anyone have recommendations for the best low-sodium PB, or ones you particularly liked? I'm open to experimenting and looking around, even if he might take some convincing to try it out.
Thank you!!
I've been incredibly lucky the past few months and my symptoms have been light. Some nausea, some diarrhea. But hardly any cramping! Which is new for me!
Well, my number was pulled. The cramps are back and they've come for my whole torso. My back, my whole digestive tract, anything that can cramp is cramping. I didn't even eat anything today - just had a protein shake and my normal water because my stomach was already feeling tight.
I'm laying in bed with a heating pad, hoping to fall asleep at some point as I see the neurologist bright and early tomorrow for completely unrelated reasons (obviously).
May your weeks be cramp free, friends.

Heyyyy,
I'm not officially diagnosed (my last appointment with a rheumatologist ended with her saying something along the lines of "you have a lot of symptoms of fibromyalgia and maybe some kind of arthritis, but I'm not going to diagnose you with anything. Lose some weight." I have chronic migraines, TMJ, gastroparesis, probable IBS, PCOS, IIH, hidradenitis, depression, anxiety, and OCD. And I admit that I'm definitely overweight!
Anyway, all this to say that I'm used to being in pain. But the pain I've been feeling the past few days, and today especially, feels unreal. I've been so stressed due to work and some grad school assignments, and I think it's manifesting as whatever the fuck this is. My upper back feels like someone's stabbing into it, my brain is having trouble processing even the simplest concepts, and I slept like 15 hours last night and woke up feeling like I hadn't slept at all (of course, waking up every hour or so to pee probably didn't help).
I guess I'm just frustrated, and wondering if this sounds like a flare to any of you! Or if your flares present differently? If it does sound like a flare, how have you treated/dealt with your flares?
Thanks!
