PSA 2026-10-01: Pulled up GE App to skip the long GE kiosk line, only to find out GE App has been replaced by TT App. What’s worse? TT only operates on iOS18+, so my fellow iPhone X users are SOL. I am down to one banking App and no investment App. Safari can’t even pull up Southwest or United without 5-10 minutes of processing, then errors galore. This forced obsolescence is starting to wear me down.

Deferred Compensation

Looking to launch in 2027. Using simple numbers, $500K 401K, $500K Brokerage, and $500K Deferred Compensation (NQDC). $50K annual spend is covered by NQDC separation payout over next 10 years.

Do I consider the full $1.5M (401K + Brokerage + NQDC) as one lump sum and assign the same 60/30/10 weighting to each asset location? Or do I allocate a much higher cash-equivalent to NQDC since that is all coming out in next 10 years?

LS430 Hood Struts

Decided to swap my non-working hood struts. Lexus OEM is $135 EACH !!! before taxes and shipping. I ordered highest rated struts (Amazon confirmed LS430 fit) and spent an hour in the blazing sun. The ball and socket design is a safety hazard because LS430 hood opens much higher, so ball pops out of the socket and strut comes crashing down, about 50% of the time. Ordered a second brand, same problem. I ordered one last time and “BOXI” actually worked. It does not fit identically, but I got both struts installed after some serious cursing. Thought I’d do a write up to save y’all an afternoon of misery.
