Frigidaire Gas Oven/Range - terrible experience
TL;DR - appliance was defective as shipped and customer service is awful.
Bought a Model Number: FCRG306LAF five-burner gas oven from Frigidaire/Electrolux last month. There were normal weird smells for a few weeks, but then it became apparent there was a gas leak when the oven was on.
Technician came out after 5 days and identified that one of the burners was leaking gas when the oven was on. He turned off the gas -oven is out of commission for 10 days while they order the part and schedule the next service.
Technicians came out 10 days later, identify that the oven door is missing a spring and is releasing heat onto the control panel. They fix nothing and need to order the part.
I call Frigidaire after the second visit, since it was already 2 weeks without a working stove out of the four I'd owned and it had been shipped as a defective product. They state they need the technician report and would email a follow-up on whether they could compensate me in some way for the inconvenience of an unusable appliance. They never follow up.
Technicians are scheduled to visit tomorrow - 12 days later - for a total downtime of almost 4 weeks. I follow up with Frigidaire customer service and they inform me their official policy is to allow unlimited attempts at repair rather than replacement and they do not compensate for inconvenience or downtime; in other words, the previous customer service call was a lie.
If anybody has any advice on how to get compensated or past this lemon product, it would be appreciated.
