People starting out their careers now, don't make the same mistake I did

I'm 35yo, been working in IT since 12 years now. One day I woke up and realized that I don't have any significant corpus left for retirement.

And this probably was a mistake but I listened to my dad and purchased a 3BHK flat putting down all my existing savings. At that time I thought it was a good deal since he was also going to help me out with 50% of the amount. Long story short, my house is now fully paid off but I have only about 20L overall in my portfolio. I'm currently rigorously working to create an emergency fund first.

Reading all the posts in this group I feel an immense regret of the opportunity lost. I used to think saving about 20% of my salary in RDs should be enough. Had nobody to slap some sense into me back then. And whatever I used to save used to get spent in some expense or the other. My expensive lifestyle mostly stemmed from buying gadgets and spending a bomb on trips.

Right now I make a little over 2L per month so planning to invest at least 1.5L of it spread across Niftybees, gold bees and a flexi cap fund. Hopefully it will save my ass if I live off very frugally from now on. Not planning to get married too.

Worst case scenario I might have to rent out the flat and move to a small house.

TLDR: Put all savings into house, no retirement corpus after 12 yoe in IT

Are there any support groups for positive gay men

35 yo gay man here, diagnosed with HIV three months ago and on ART. Quite unsure about the future. Part of me tells that I should just marry a HIV positive woman and live out my life. I don't even know how other queer men are planning to settle down in their lives. Is it possible to find a long term same -sex partner ? This uncertainty is driving me nuts everyday.

My Fossil Hybrid watch

This Fossil Collider HR was bought a long time ago and I still love using it. The e-ink display does the job well, has customisable backgrounds and complications, and battery lasts for about two or weeks which is really sweet. Has most of the functionality that you expect from a smart watch.

I've recently heard that the hybrid line is now discontinued by Fossil. I wish to see more of these out in the world!

My designer is suggesting to not go for panel lights at all and only use cob lights everywhere for a premium look. Has anyone done this? Would it provide enough light ?

I have multiple devices that track activity and send data to Health Connect.

  1. Pixel phone tracking via Fit

  2. Pixel watch (Fitbit)

  3. Casio watches app

  4. Fossil watch app

If I use different watches at different times of day, can I reliably get a consolidated step count somewhere(even when I'm not carrying my phone) ? Google Fit always shows Pixel phone as the source for steps, so I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right place.
