Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF discontinued?

I have been using the Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40 for the last three years.

I tried to order it online at Sephora but it got cancelled because it was out of stock. I went in person and it was also out of stock. This is the only product of Supergoop that's out of stock everywhere.

Does anyone know if it's just a short stock, reformation coming or are they discontinuing it?

I need to find an alternative in the mean time.

- Isomers Skincare Essential Daily Cleanser

[Product Question] Isomers Skincare

I have oily acne prone skin. I'm rebuilding my skincare routine and I'm on a quest to find a prebiotic moisturizer with three or more prebiotics (not probiotic or postbiotics).

I came across Isomers Skincare. It looks like a legit company but I have doubts. There are not many reviews and they only sell products online.

They have the Microbiome Balancing Cream which has 3 of the 4 best prebiotics:

- Fructooligosaccharides

- Inulin

- Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide

They also have the 5% Niacinamide Booster serum with the 4th prebiotic I'm looking for:

- Beta-Glucan

Does anyone have experience using their products? The ingredients from these two products look too good to be true for the price.

[Acne] Looking for Prebiotic skincare products

I (32F) have very oily acne prone skin. I am trying rebuild my skincare routine from scratch.

I am currently using Finacea cream (azelaic acid 15%), Retin A Micro 0.1 gel and Clindoxyl gel (5% Benzoyl peroxide and 1.2% Clindamycin).

I've always known that acne is caused by overgrowth of bacteria, clogged dead skin cells, inflammation and excessive sebum production. Genetics, hormones, behavioral and environmental factors plays a significant role in influencing these causes.

The prescription acne medications reduced my acne alot but it still keeps coming after clearing up (a continuous cycle). I'm not eligible medically to take Accutane, birth control or spironolactone.

I did a deep dive on actual clinical research and guidelines on acne and found out the prebiotics, pro***biotics and postbiotic skin care products can help clear acne along side acne medications.

I've found many products with probiotics and postbiotics. I am trying to find skin products with three or more of the following best probiotics:

- Fructooligosaccharides

- Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide

- Inulin

- Beta-Glucan

Does anyone have any product recommendations?

HoneyLux brand legit?

I found the brand HoneyLux online that sells actual silk hair accessories for 1/4 of the price from Crown Affair and Slip.

Is this a legit company? Has anyone used their products before?

[Product Review] Phillip Adams: the best leave in conditioner I have ever used

I have been on the search for a leave in conditioner for my fine wavy frizzy hair for the past two years.

I have tried many drugstore and Sephora brands. The K18 HeatBounce Leave-In Conditioner turned my hair into a dry straw frizzy mess. I have tried leave in conditioners from Redken, Crown Affair, Carina and many others. They were either too heavy and flattened my hair or too light and did nothing. I spent hundreds of dollars.

I searched and one product stood out:

- Phillip Adams Orange Vanilla Leave in conditioner

I searched Google but I couldn't find many reviews. BUT my favourite perfume is the NEST Creme de Clementine with Vanilla (unfortunately, not a Canadian brand). This perfume smells absolutely delicious (vanilla and orange creamsicle).

So, I went ahead and blindly bought the leave in conditioner to match. I have been using it after every wash for two weeks and holy. My hair is the best it's been. My hair is glossy, shiny, silky soft, my natural waves and curls have definition and for some odd reason more volume. To top it off, the leave in conditioner smells very similar to my perfume and my hair smells devine.

Unfortunately, now I'm on my way to buy the matching shampoo and conditioner.

[Misc] Are cheaper dupes worth it?

I've noticed that in the last year or so online, there has been an increase in people raving about drugstore skincare products and statements that they are just as good and equivalent to Sephora/luxury/premium/higher end brands.

There has been alot of bashing of high end brands like Skinceuticals, Supergoop!, EltaMD, Drunk Elephant, Biossance, etc.

I feel like this a marketing strategy for drugstore brands to sell their products and influencers to expand their reach to more followers.

For example, I was looking to try marula oil. I came accross the Drunk Elephant Marula oil ($96 CAD). I did a deep dive on the internet for a cheaper product. Reviews and influencers raved about the Ordinary marula oil ($15.10 CAD) as a dupe. So, I went into Sephora and tried the Ordinary marula oil. It took 15 minutes to absorb into my skin (i really had to rub it in).

I tried the Drunk Elephant Marula oil on my other hand and wow! It absorbed completely into my skin in seconds. The Drunk Elephant one was lighter, absorbed faster, made my skin look dewy and soft while the Ordinary one was heavy, took longer to absorb and looked greasy on my skin.

They both had one ingredient: virgin marula oil but they had a completely different end result (cold pressed vs unrefined oil).

It started to make me think that products can have the same actives but the source, process of extraction and percentage of ingredients does matter for cheaper products to be dupes.

Ducray products

My dermatologist office started selling the following products:

- Ducray Anaphase Neoptide densifying shampoo
- Ducray Anaphase Neoptide strengthening shampoo

- Ducray Anaphase oral supplements

These products are also sold at my local pharmacy. I've never heard about them and didn't notice them until my dermatologist office started selling them.

I can't find many reviews. Has anyone tried them? Do they work for female pattern hair loss?
