Online devotion groups?

Hey guys, non-Bahai here that is curious about the faith.

I wanted to know if there are any online devotional groups that run zoom meetings or something like that? I live in a very remote part of Ireland - closest practicing Bahá'ís seem to be a 2hour drive if the local assembly is to be believed - so looking for alternative routes to exposure to the faith.

All the best 🙏🏻

Please, teach me about your faith 🙏🏻

Hey guys, first time posting here!

This one's fairly self explanatory - I want you to teach me about your religion! But a little bit of context never hurts...

I've always been super interested in religion. I was raised in a pretty traditional Catholic household in Dublin Ireland. I have memories of asking my mum what it meant that we were "Roman Catholics", did it mean we were Italian or something? She never gave me a particularly satisfying answer on what it meant - all I knew was my Granny was REALLY Catholic.

When I was 12 I met my first girlfriend. She was half Somali and raised by her Muslim mother and aunt. They weren't super strict or orthodox, but I remember realising they had different rules for living. Couldn't eat certain things, had to dress in a certain way, while also trying to fit in in a Catholic school in the Irish suburbs. I couldn't understand it as a kid, but I was interested in it.

When I was 15 I declared myself an atheist, because all my friends were atheists. I was too embarrassed to admit that part of me wanted to believe in a god, even if it wasn't the one I learnt about in school and at home.

I'm 28 now and married to a person that was raised COMPLETELY non-religious. Religion has never been a facet of their family life - going back as far as their great grandparents, religion.

When we first met I almost didn't believe it: how could you grow up (in Ireland of all places) without religion, without a god? It was interesting to learn about how someone with no faith navigates a school system that is almost unilaterally Christian.

Nowadays I live in a very secluded, bohemian and decidedly secular part of the country. However, the idea of god and religion has re-entered my life with a bit of a bang (that's a story for another time) and I have been loving learning about other people's faiths and practices.

Whether it's the religion you were raised with or one you came to later in life, please tell me something about it. Anything! Something you like, something you dislike, something you do everyday that connects you to your faith.

You can leave a comment below or message me directly - I don't mind 😊

I'm really looking forward to hearing what people have to share!

Straight Edge in Glasgow

Hey there, I'm planning on moving to Glasgow in the new year and have been told there's a decent edge community in the city - very exciting!

Anyone on here an active member of the scene? Got any recommendations for venues, local bands, other social things happening amongst sober punks in the city?

Would love to know some of the spots to be and even meet up with a couple heads when I move over if possible.

All the best 🙏🏻🤘
