bored

Spent about 18 months buying and trying pedals, wheeling and dealing, trading, returning etc. Ended up settling on this about 6 months ago and have been really happy. I dont play a lot of gigs on bass rn so it’s only the C Regalis and the Stomp when I do. Use this with both bass and baritone guitar at home. C Regalis is always on, just adjust settings between instruments.

EDIT : i forgot to include but was actually really stoked on the fact that i didnt buy any of this full price aside from the behringer. i spent a lot of time and everything i did along the way was done pretty carefully. i travel around for work and checked tons of music stores. the Moth Electric was a sale, the stomp was a store demo model, the dark star was used. built the board a while ago out of some wood i found in the barn and stained with whatever i had. drilled holes in it. it is powered by a Canvas HP that was a b stock purchase.

Over a month in…

I am obsessed with this thing. I can’t speak highly enough of it. I didn’t know anything about these beforehand but walked into a guitar center for strings for my firefly baritone and saw this front and center - this was a couple days after the new Gretsch baritones release. I saw one of these CVTs and ended up picking it up and playing it three times. I grabbed my strings and went home but just kept thinking about it. Normally, that feeling wears off after a day or two and i can convince myself why i shouldnt get it. couldnt shake it with this one. the one i played had sold already and so had all the ones around - i didnt expect it would be so popular.

Ended up finding a store a few hours away willing to hold their last one. I drove there next day and traded the firefly and havent regretted it 5 weeks later now. If I had to find SOMETHING i dont like about it, i guess it would be the position of the top strap button which I will probably move but that’s legit it for me.

I have tried a couple sets of strings. ended up coming back around to almost stock with EX157 14-68s in drop A. 12s were too slack, fun but didnt sound as good to me. 13s I tried were okay but this thing really sings with some tension. It sounds great unplugged which is what drew me in from the start.
